You need to add the following to the translation:

I [typed name], certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and [enter appropriate language] languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled [enter title of document].
    Signature
    Typed Name
    Address
    Date

There is no need for notarized copy.

It is understandable that the process is emotionally convoluted for the persons personally invested in it. But if you want other people/entities do something for you, make it easy for them. That is your best chance.

Trust us; you do not want overworked and underpaid government employees trying to wrap their minds around the intricacies of your unorthodox approaches. Try to present your case in as simple and straightforward way as possible. And strive for the least amount of complications.

These things take loooooong time. So, research everything the best you can, and double-triple-quadruple check everything before pulling the trigger.

    Good luck.

OutOfThisWorld got a reaction from aminkowz in I-134 Question 38 - Contributions
Here is what I decided to go with for Page 4, Part 3, Item 38 additional information:

The person named in part 2 is a K-1 visa applicant. I intend to receive, maintain, and support that person in full for the entire duration of her stay in the United States. The specific contributions include, but not limited to, room and board, money for food, apparel, personal care, transportation, entertainment, and any necessary medical expenses.

Probably completely extraneous, but I wanted to leave nothing to chance.

I wanted to add, "I intend to cover any puddles she has to walk over with expensive fur coats." But I run out of space.

Also, I can see my fiancee sticking her manicured nail into the form, a few years down the road, and yelling: "You promised money for entertainment. Pay up now, lazy bones!" LOL

UPDATE: If anyone is wondering for future, We mailed the wrong form out 4/6, FedEx delivered 4/8, and we got the package rejected and returned today, 4/19.  So about 11 days we received the returned package.  I did not get a rejection email or letter or anything besides what was in the returned package (I797).  We will be sending it out again tomorrow.  I triple checked everything myself.  Thank you everyone for your comments and I hope this helps someone in the future.

She was planning on working abroad after her husband passed and so she got a passport.  Her family extremely looks down upon doing anything illegal.  They are very religious and they get upset with some of my habits lol  but I understand where your coming from.  I know the Philippines, you can easily get things you should have if the price is right.  Thank you for your response.  I want to make EXTRA sure before I submit the petition..  Thank you again! :-)

Emotions aside, K-1 is just a visitors visa with a three-month stay. If you already can visit, then what is the point?

    This! This! This!

Being able to marry in the place of our choosing and on the timescale of our choosing (and not have it controlled by USCIS and their employees’ speed at going through files) was one of the many reasons why we went for the CR-1.

Or just marry first and then apply for supposal visa.

I am constantly puzzled why people from countries like UK (with pretty much unrestricted travel between the country and the US) apply for K-1 visas at all.

It is usually required. Check the consulate requirements. The income is before taxes.

Government does not care about your fiancé’s soccer aspirations. There are pre-set tables on how much income you need to qualify that do not depend on the beneficiary profession or goals in life.

An invitation letter is not technically required, but it is a convenient way to provide information why the persons want to travel to the US, where they will stay, for how long, and who is taking the responsibility for their wellbeing.

You are good. It is only one US-passport-size photo each of the petitioner and of the beneficiary to be included with the petition. Later in the process, more photos will be needed.

OutOfThisWorld got a reaction from CaliforniaLovin in K1 visa previous marriage certificate?
There is a requirement to show the documentation for name changes. Prior marriage certificates could be that, if the name had changed; as often the marriage and the name change are on the same certificate.

If the name did not change, then only divorce certificate(s) are required.

Maybe your version of Adobe Acrobat is too old. You can download the latest version of the free Adobe Acrobat Reader; it should allow you to save the form no problem. Or, update your Acrobat, if you have subscription.

OutOfThisWorld got a reaction from H Al in Reason for expedite visa
Your CP does not have to do with anything but your motor function.

The religious grounds may be a factor, but it is a very long shot. I would not waste time with this avenue ether.

Do meet in person, as much as you can, the more the better. It is good both for the official process and for personal reasons.

The most alone you will ever feel is when you are with a wrong person. Do make sure that you are with a right person. Your responsibility is to bring children into a happy family.
Good advice from other people in this thread. However, I do not believe that getting pregnant is grounds to expedite at all. Otherwise everyone would be claiming pregnancy. Expedite is more for thigs like imminent military deployment.

    Good luck.

In general, it is widely known that antibiotics are overprescribed.

I guess it is easier for doctors to just prescribe antibiotics and see if it helps, rather than trying to figure out if any and what kind of bacterial infection is present.

OutOfThisWorld got a reaction from Faith88’ in Proof of in-person meeting vs how we met
It is a good idea to have the proof of in-person meeting(s) within last two years separate and easy to find; rather than having somebody dig for it through Facebook chats or what have you.

You can briefly describe the in-person meeting right on the form; and in more details in the attachment.
