Proof of in-person meeting vs how we met

Good evening !

i have just a quick question ..

on the I-129f application I see where they are asking of evidence of in person meeting, whether my fiancé and I are related and if we met through an international marriage broker. We met on facebook and I included this in the Item 53 attachment letter along with dates and descriptions of our in person meeting ..

Does the in-person meeting and “how we met” have to be separate letters?

Also do we have to provide a second intent to marry from both parties at the time of the interview?

warmwst regards and thanks

"How we met" can include meeting on FB but it is more of how you met in person (When, where, ect). It can be on a separate page if needed, just put "See Attachmet #**" on the main form.

Evidence of meeting in person is like passport pages showing entry/exit stamps, airline tickets, hotel receipts, ect..

And we provided updated/renewed letters of intent at the interview yes.

It is a good idea to have the proof of in-person meeting(s) within last two years separate and easy to find; rather than having somebody dig for it through Facebook chats or what have you.

You can briefly describe the in-person meeting right on the form; and in more details in the attachment.

Facebook chats aren’t going to prove an in-person meeting.

For that you’ll have to provide things like copies of plane tickets or boarding passes, hotel receipts, pictures of the two of you together, etc.

It's best if you can provide multiple, triangulating/corroborating evidence of the meeting. If you want to be thorough and fool-proof, provide:

  • Emails/chat logs discussing your intention/pre-planning to meet
  • Travel documentation (boarding passes, hotel bookings, entry immigration stamps) that show action to meet
  • Pictures of both of you (preferably at a recognizable local landmark) that show you actually met

This is how you should try to back up other major claims in your immigration journey.

This is what I did. It was made soooo much easier since we had posted our photos to IG and FB and the location was tagged. In my cover page, I listed the exact order of what was contained for each visit and I kept the sequence the same for each trip to make it easy for them.
