  1. And people complain that the adjudication of 1-129f is taking > 14 months on average……. Smh.
  2. He's not automatically considered a citizen when arriving on a B visa. How and when did you get your citizenship?
  3. Oooh boy! It's basically Canada. Buy a Subaru! Conservative part of the US, but people are genuine.
  4. It may be frustrating, but the burden was on you to understand the conditions of your visa. Many people here on VJ are only interested in pursuing rhe “fastest”!route to “be together,” vs what is more practical for life in the US. Since 2020, K-1 has no longer even been faster than CR-1. Also, obtaining a drivers license is not overseen federally- it is by state. In some states, you can get one without regard to immigration status.
  5. I-129F petitions are not processed at the TSC. They are processed at the CSC. Current processing time is around 13 months, so your just a couple of months over that. What do you hope an immigration lawyer can do for you? You could pay them to make the same inquiries you can make for free. Have you submitted an inquiry for being outside of normal processing?
  6. You need to do a significant amount of reading/research to become educated about the visa process.
  7. That does sound frustrating. Have you spent much time in the US? Where will you reside?
  8. Kia Ora! I'm not, but my husband is. He came over on a K-1 four years ago. Unfortunately, I don't have any personal knowledge of EB visas. Auckland has historically been one of the more efficient consulates, in part because it has had far fewer visa applications to process than others. I think most NZ visa seekers on VJ are not employment-based though. Have you tried asking on the AUS/NZ forum?
  9. Obviously they will all need passports. But that isn’t something you can get for them, as it will be applied for by them from their own government. You are not part of that process. It will be at least two years before they get visas, so there is plenty of time.
  10. This doesn’t really make sense. You do realize that passports are issued to citizens of a country by that government, right? What do you mean apply online on her behalf? if you think those fees are expensive, you’ll want to thoroughly research the costs of bringing over three immigrants.
  11. Then that’s your personal decision, based on your own tolerance for risk. It is not a chance-based system or a question anyone here can answer.
  12. Just a couple of months into this process, and you’re already trying to manufacture a ‘reason’ for an expedite? You have a long road ahead. You may well want to consider moving there if you cannot wait another year+.
  13. OP stated that the person in question wants to try to get that because someone else did, but that that person "already had" residence in Brazil. Does not sound like OP's friend has any sort of path to legal residency in Brazil as a way of circumventing the queue.
  14. Sorry you’re frustrated, but you’re right at 8 months, which is around how long it is taking. Definitely a drawback to choosing to AOS vs consular processing.
  15. You can’t consulate shop to try to avoid waiting behind others who applied first.
  16. Usually bans for overstay are triggered when you depart the US. @SusieQQQ may know as this pertains to F1.
  17. They cannot use those visas to live in the US while the petitions are being processed. They cannot go to school here while on those visas.
  18. Vetting will be the same. Obtaining a visa in a different visa class doesn't change the background check process.
  19. If you're truly "asking for a friend," I doubt they will disclose any details to you. What do you mean by the 'person entrusted' to pay the fees?
