Laststop reacted to USS_Voyager in DV VISA ISSUANCE DELAY WORRYING
Yes, It's normal. Their standard response is always "2 weeks" but not always the case. It could be more, less, much much more. Like I said, if they kept all your passports, that is somewhat of a good sign. That means they think the case is approvable, just waiting for whatever "administrative things" they need to do before a visa can be printed out and affixed to your passport. Even after the visa is printed and affixed to your passport, they still do quality control check on each visa to make sure it absolutely 100% will read correctly when you stand in front of a CBP officer at the port of entry. So there are a lot of administrative steps here that need to happen between the interview and when the visa is officially "issued". That including if the visa printer runs out of ink and they have to wait two weeks for the special secret ink to arrive, so that's another two weeks. I just make that up, but you get the picture.

If all goes well, the next status update you will see may be "AP", and don't be alarmed, it will be "AP" for only a day or two and then change to "Issued" which is the final update.

So keep up the positive thoughts. However, again, do not sell your properties, houses, vehicles, ... do you quit your job, or make/change life plans until you have that passport and visa in your hand. The visa is usually valid for 6 months or whenever your medicals expire, so you will have few months to wrap things up before you have to go to the US.

    Best of luck, sir!

You send 1 package with 1 form, 1 check and supporting evidence that are copies (no originals). I personally made a copy of the form and check for me to keep just in case, and I wrote down what + took pictures of what I included in the package. You of course can make a copy of the whole package for yourself.

You need to disclose ALL criminal history.

USCIS cannot be more specific and explicit in stating that.... If you fail to disclose it and it comes up in the background check, which they run, your petition will be denied .

If she took a lie detector test and failed, you'll never fully trust her again because it would be proven she slept with other men.

If she took a lie detector test and failed, you'll still never fully trust her again because it would remain proven that she did everything else BUT sleep with other men. (talked to them all lovey-dovey, met up with them, back-stabbed you, lied to you, had secret conversations, talked badly about you, etc.)

I'm sorry this happened to you, and I'm sorry it was all exposed to you right before the holidays as an added kicker.

Along with the immigration advice given, I would advise you to forget the lie detector test---and instead get a medical test for possible STDs.

The good news is you are NOT DENIED. This is what is called a 221(g) which outlines additional documents that are required by the CO so that he/she can continue adjudicating your case. If everything is in order, I believe you have a visa coming. IF you were denied they would not ask for additional information and sent your case on to USCIS to die a slow death. This is not the case for you guys.

Follow the instructions very carefully. Once the information is returned they will continue adjudicating your case.

You are going to make it. Just will need to do this work and then wait.

As far as ID for travel, use your unexpired foreign passport.
As an LPR, you are required to have proof of status on you at all times, so bring the expired GC and extension letter too.

You file an I-864 for your wife.  Joint Sponsor files his own I-864 for your wife. Joint Sponsor's spouse files an I-864a as a Household Member.

You file I-864w for your kids.

So he got into trouble with the law while his citizenship application is pending?   Thats nuts!   What was he thinking?   Also, he must mention it during the interview.  Lying in the application or interview is grounds for instant denial or if they find out in the future for denaturalization and deportation!   Be careful!

If you are so concerned about it, then perhaps you shouldn't get married.  If things go the wrong way, that could be the least of your financial concerns.

Well, OP commented above that her petitioner DID send that stuff in but perhaps it got misplaced. However usually if things get lost, it's only one item. Not sure how they could have managed to lose ALL the pertinent documents. Anyhoo.

Sorry but this is just how the process is. It is long, annoying, depressing and difficult to get through. You're not the only person and certainly not the first person to feel this way about it. Just to give you some perspective: according to the latest report, USCIS reported 30,353 pending I-129F petitions during this year's third quarter. Add on top of that the fact you have to do AoS after you get your K1 and marry. In the same report: 372,057 pending I-485's in the third quarter. On top of THAT, you will have to do RoC and then N400 (if you choose). The K1 is only the beginning. Get used to that.

If you don't have kids, you don't have kids.  Many of us do not.

As far as "transactional information" from your bank accounts...did you send EVERY page of the statement, or just the summary page?  They want to see how you pay for your rent and make sure you both live at the same address (which is why they asked for your IDs/driver's licenses).  They want to see that your JOINT account pays for the utilities, your auto insurance, and for your living expenses.  Ideally, they'd like to see your income coming into the account and how it gets spent.  This is how they determine evidence of "co-mingling of finances".  If you do not do it this way, then you need to explain how your income comes in, and how it gets spent.  It's not who spent what - it's how your joint account pays for your living expenses.

You've done a great job and given them a high-level picture of your co-mingling, but there is something they are missing (or that they THINK they are missing) - so that is why the "transactional" data is important.  Don't argue with them about the marriage license.  Send them EXACTLY what they ask for.

    Good luck.  You'll be fine.

I know it really sucks, but the best way to get through this is to lower your expectations and try not to compare your timeline to anyone else's. Don't forget that the people here on Visajourney represent a tiny percentage of all the petitions the CSC has to work through! When someone gets to your file you'll hear from them. Stay busy, talk a lot with your fiancé about non-visa stuff, don't forget to hang out with your friends, take up a new hobby, go check out the Menil Collection (if you're the one in Houston), and the time will come! Good luck

They didn't separate us. The interview took 15-20  minutes. They didn't say i was approved right away. I just looked into my USCIS status online and said that I was approved. And 7 days after my interview i got my green card. This was in Norfolk, VA.
