It’s 6 months wait after  i-130 approval. Once it reaches NVC, another 1 month for them to issue you case number. After you submit your docs at NVC, it’s 2 months wait. Then you get email saying your docs are approve wait for interview letter which is another 1 month. When your interview  letter arrives with date which is for next month

you have about 4 months before the interview day.

It's not a 6 month wait for everyone after the I-130 approval. Yes, it normally takes about two months after I-130 approval to receive a case number. Then of course it depends how quickly you can gather your documents and submit them without any further issues related to payment processing. From there, as we know, the review period can be two months or two weeks. On top of that, you can always get an RFE or make a slight error which then can reset the clock potentially another two months.

But, the big part you're missing is that every country has a different wait time for interviews. That user, for example, is from Canada where the wait time is 5 months. Those in Mexico wait almost a year. Anyone from a country where the wait time is one month is very fortunate. The flip side of that is it's normally easier for Canadians and Mexicans to visit their spouses more frequently in the US during the process.

Thanks but I know all of this and I’ve been at nvc 4 months now. I paid my fees back in September but there been issues with the payment, then the site went down for almost 2 weeks, then they asked for a document that was never requested in the first place and so it goes.

It also depends on your country when you get your interview date and for canada it’s very long. So I have a lot longer to wait and it’s frustrating. I am simply venting.

can you clarify, you paid fees? do you mean your case # was generated in NVC and you submitted your docs already (e.g Civil documents and i864)

I know exactly what you mean.. we are fellow Hellbraskan’s.. PD June 2018... waited 382 days.. for them to never send our petition to nvc. 8 weeks later I was ecstatic for the nvc process as I had read it was much easier. (Bologna)

we’re just about at 19 months... and I’m now paranoid we’ll get through the interview for them to put us in AP.. Just because they can lol it’s really pointless to stress about it, but living in this limbo is killing me! When we first applied it was taking 7-9 months to process everything !!

I am scared of the same thing to happen for the interview .. to be put in AP.

its like a story with no end ..

They also asked us for a doc that was never requested. Did they accept the other docs u submitted?

Canadian shouldn't have to wait 5 months. it should be like 1 month. The point you're are missing here is that user didn't submit proper docs and had issues with payment process. I am from an Asian country, my wait make sense to be 6 months. Mexican wait is 1 yr which makes sense. because of large population from these countries. as they is a quota set. I doubt alot of people from Canada are immigrating to US.  I believe USCIS website says to wait 180 days for approval notice after submission.
