I am sure they will now pickup the pace. So the time should drop by the time I get to case closed. I guess those who approved a couple of months earlier were not better off than us! Instead they waited longer for IL. Hopefully we at least get a month knocked off the time.

Yes I pray they pick up again.. so by the time we get there 🙏🏼

I agree.. those who got CC waited longer.

Hey guys! I’d like your opinion about something: we got NoA2 on August 9th. We are waiting for our case to be sent/received by NVC.

I want to go spend the holidays with my family and I can get a good price if I book my flights now but I’m trying to figure out if it’s likely I’ll have my interview between Dec 20-Jan 13 (when I want to go).

Right now I’m expecting 1 month until NVC receives our case, 1 more until we have a case number, about 2 for CC, then at least 1-2 before interview. That would bring us to January-February at the very least. Does this seem reasonable for you? Am I missing something?

From the data for Canada it doesn’t look like they do any interview between Dec 20-Jan 20 anyway...

You can always drag your feet at NVC stage if you feel like it's cutting it too close. CC usually takes 3-5 weeks after submitting your documents and paying the fees

We were approved a day before you and two days ago my husband received an email saying our case was sent to the department of state. So maybe next week yours will be sent. From what i have seen here it takes around a month for USCIS to send the case then another month to get your case number ...

Do we choose our interview date for CR1? Or is it decided for us? I think there's one visa between K1 and CR1 where you can actually choose but I can't remember which one.

Hey guys! what is CC? like the time it takes for the file to go to your local Consulate and get an appointment?

CC means "case closed", when all your documents are approved at NVC stage

K1 chooses, CR1 gets one assigned (you can reschedule, but depending on embassy/consulate there may be a several month waittime for a new one) — just read up on this the other day 🙃

We got our Case Number after about 25 days after the NOA2 notice. We just submitted the biographical page and the page across from it (because we took a scan of that page opened if that makes sense). We got a notice to resubmit that specified that the text must read horizontally. We just flipped the passport and took another scan and sent it back the same day. It was approved after a month.

Do people usually have to submit passport stamps??

Please what do you mean by “ we took a scan of the page opened?

We used a scanner that required my husband's passport lay flat. We opened it to the page with his biographical data. The other page across from that was included in the scan. Each country's passport has something different on that page. The biographical data page is what the NVC wants, but we included the other page because it was already in the scanned file.
