I started vacation from work today. Woke up to an email from USCIS stating that they took action on our case. When I logged in to see that our case was approved, I almost cried from happiness. What a great start to my vacation! For those still waiting, hang on there. Your day is coming!

Wow.. Congratulations

Did you file I-129F , if no it could be a good idea . A lot of us get their I-130 approved faster or in a “decent” time frame ( for NSC) .

i don’t say that it is a magical solution but it help . Look at the recent approvals 🙂

Ok, we just called NVC to know if they received my case ( USCIS sent to nvc on sept.3rd) .

we wait 58 mn before having someone on the line , the agent made my husband repeat our case number 3 times 😤and she told us that it can take up to 6weeks for our case just to be received once USCIS send it and then again the time to have the Case number ..

please tell me that it’s a joke .. it’s a story with no end .. really

I don't think it should take 12 weeks, weird she would say that. It usually takes 6-8 weeks total of receiving + case number, not 6 weeks and then another 6 weeks

Our CR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
  • September 10 2020: Embassy received passport in mail
  • September 15 2020: Passport with visa in hand

October 11 2020: Arrived in US!

Fingers crossed you hear from them soon!!!

My husband woke me up at 7:30ish am German time saying he has gotten a text from them - turns out I’d also gotten an email from them 7 hours before that. Old USCIS page updated, new page still hasn’t although it’s the one the email said to log into to check the action taken.

We just FaceTimed, and he already received the paper NOA2 today - listing an approval date of September 4th, while online and text/email said September 5th.

So it should definitely be worth checking “all” resources when checking your status. Really hoping you hear from them soon!

@everyone recently approved, whose case has been sent to NVC already: did you get a separate (online, at least) status update once Nebraska had mailed out your case? Or does that actually happen at the “same” time as the approval?

The paper NOA2 received in the mail today actually say USCIS “sent” - as in, past tense - our case to NVC, and to give it (at least) 30 days before inquiring, which makes it sound like that has already happened? For some reason I’d thought it’d be on their desk for a while yet before getting another update à la “sent to […]”?

"One day, the plane ticket will be one way."
