I wonder if the IOE references are still in a trial mode, or whether they will revert back to the old service centre codes.

It seems more likely from the amount of IOE references that it’s the new normal and processing times will likely reflect the current posted times.

Is anyone aware of a August filer without an IOE reference?

I'm curious to see what happens with August filers also. It does seem like it's the new norm though

My next thought is I wonder if the processing times will be made consistent across all service centers now digital records appear to be the norm. I would imagine if it’s all online and files can be adjudicated digitally, I think they will slow Potomac and level it out with Nebraska. It doesn’t seem right that one centre can complete on half the time. We shall see what all happens.

I haven’t seen a thread started for all of us new July 2019 filers so thought I’d get one started!

My husband filed and he got the text receipt on Friday 12th July and we’re waiting on the hardcopy of NOA1 at the moment. We’ve got an IOE receipt number so until we get the hardcopy we don’t know which service center we’re being processed by.

Feel free to comment below with your NOA1 and service center so we can keep in touch through this long process and share tips.

(and if someone has already started a thread feel free to merge it, I just couldn’t find one! 😊

Mine is IOE too, PD is July 11th, with Nebraska  service  center.

I thought California was on a 2-2.5 year processing time? Where did you find the info to say it’s second fastest after Potomac? As looking at the statistics I thought Texas was second?

I hope this electronic system speeds things up, it’s unfair that we all submit our petitions and pay the same money, yet some people’s get sent to the fastest Center and the rest of us are waiting for at least 6-12 months through no fault of our own.

Why does it take all this months to get approval?   Are they usually trying to dig information about the petitioner and beneficiary or is it just because there are many people making petitions.

This thread is for I-130's, but it looks like 129-f's are processed in 5-7 months at CA, so that's not bad.

That person who is at the CA center, I believe is an I-129f, from what they mentioned, so I think they're in the wrong thread (and looks like 129f's are processed in 5-7 months there)....but you're right, I-130's at CA are 18.5-24 months, crazy long.

I also hope the E-filing speeds things up for everyone. The service centers should have equal processing times across the board.

No, I don't think they're working on our individual applications for months at a time trying to dig up dirt or review everything in our backgrounds. I think there are just soo many, they're that back logged. Once the file gets to an officers desk for review, as long as there's no hiccups, missing info, and no RFE's needed, it's moves through approval quite quickly it seems. That was the impression I got reading this article anyway, a Q&A with a former USCIS adjudicator, but it is quite old.

At the end of the 2nd quarter of Fiscal Year 2019, there were more than 1.5 MILLION I-130s pending adjudication........so it takes a long time to get to the front of the line.

California Service Center handles the majority of non-CR/non-IR petitions, so most of the I-130 are for family-based petitions (F1, F2A, F2B, F3, F4) that do not have visa available for years. You can check its statistics at https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Resources/Reports and Studies/Immigration Forms Data/Family-Based/I130_performancedata_fy2019_qtr2.pdf
