Consulate Review: Algiers, Algeria
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : April 6, 2021
Embassy Review : My husband had his interview in Algiers on Easter Sunday, and everything went very smoothly. He said everyone was very kind and professional. They asked him 10-15ish questions that were in line with most of the sample questions you'll find floating around here on VJ. At the end of the interview, she said they have everything they need and she will be approving the visa. A few hours after the interview, on the CEAC visa tracker page, the visa was listed under 'Administrative Processing' and today it's been updated to 'Issued' & and printed! It updated very quicky.

Hi, I have been following ur timeline for somedays now. I discovered your form 1-130 has been approved, please just to know if you filled for form 1-I29f. My priority date is 1st July 2019, texas service centre.

Hi Tamarajane! My I-130 is still being processed, no NOA2 yet! No approval, hopeful though. Where do you see that mine was approved? Just making sure nothing is displaying incorrectly here. We've got very similar timelines for sure.

Congrats on NOA2! Did you expedite at all?
Jmeleecur on 2019-12-18 said:
Nope, no expedite! I did file the K3, but that hasn't been touched, I don't think it had any effect on our application.

Hi! Can I know the date the USCIS sent your case to NVC? I think on USCIS it says "case sent to department of state"?
Jmeleecur on 2020-01-22 said:
Hi! we received our I-130 NOA2 Dec 18- since then, my case has NOT updated on https://myaccount.uscis.gov/ or https://egov.uscis.gov/ but we received the Welcome email from NVC on Monday 1/20/20 with our case# and Invoice#. Still nothing updated on those 2 sites mentioned, so it's clear these sites aren't automatically updated.
NNN_BP on 2020-04-27 said:
Hi have you had any updates since you sent in everything to NVC?
Jmeleecur on 2020-04-27 said:
Hi @NNN_BP, yes, on April 15, they sent us an rfe requesting an unexpired passport for the beneficiary. The issue is, the passport we provided is clearly valid until 2027. So after speaking with NVC (4 times now) and them confirming the error in their part, we're essentially waiting for them to correct this. They stated it could unfortunately take up to 6 weeks.
NNN_BP on 2020-04-29 said:
Wow sorry to hear that. Thank you for sharing. I hope it doesn’t actually take that long and you get good news soon.
IsItLekker on 2020-05-11 said:
Did you consider filing for an expedite based on their error? I know its one of the few grounds it can be granted on.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
