Looking at Dunkin Donuts (since you mentioned this brand), their requirement for franchisees is that they are already USCs or LPRs. Proof of this is required at stage one of the application. So this brand will not work for you, it appears.

A business visa is used for things such as attending work-related conferences in the US, business meetings, etc.

Well spotted! So, if OP was adjusting from a K-visa (presumably K-1), who are the family that he is wanting green cards for? A K-1's spouse is already a USC.

EB-5.   Have your friend look into this if he has $500,000 or $1,000,000 to invest.  He will need a very expensive lawyer and probably a financial consultant on the investment.

Extremely hard to get his money back.

Essentially, buying green cards.

EB5 as mentioned is the way to go. If you invest the lower amount, then you are investing in riskier businesses/areas and the chances of getting your investment back fall appropriately. So basically you have to be prepared to look at it as buying a green card, and if you make a return on your investment then it’s a bonus. The higher amount is safer and less onerous in return for your bigger investment. You need to show you have met the commitments re job creation etc before your conditional green card is made permanent. Quite a few scams out there claiming to be valid EB5 investments so need to do your homework properly. A friend of mine got this visa a while ago, it took them about a year from application to getting the visas.

Here In Florida we have many $250,000.00 Indian investor visa holders, purchasing small business. Once they get the green card, chain migration starts, and all the family works the business, displacing all the US workers. No one checks on this.

There is no visa that gives you a green card for $250k. As for chain migration, what is all the family? 7 years plus for children over 21, 15 years or so for married children and siblings which can only be petitioned after they are citizens so at least 5 years added to those times, assuming minors and parents are not taking everyone’s jobs because they’re either too young or too old. Nice story bro.

Anyone with $500K or $1M to invest usually doesn't seek advice on a public forum.

A visit visa is for short-term visiting/tourism; it cannot be used as a shortcut to stay in the US.

Another vote for the EB5 and a good team to select and advise on the right option.

There might be other options that may arise through discussions.

Question for your friend but your question is in first-person.
