Sit back and relax. You have done everything that you can do at this time. Let's wait and see if you get an RFE for it. Like I said before, they may just miss it all together.

I need to vent for a minute, please excuse me.

I find it incredibly frustrating that USCIS very actively discourages you from calling them by professing how you can find all these things online and YET, 2 weeks later my case still haven't been updated on either site. I know I have paper approval, but I also might have mild case of CDO, which is like OCD, but letters are arranged alphabetically you see, and the fact that neither site shows it as approved kinda messes me up. Yes, logically I know this is silly, but I can't help but to keep checking, 2 factors and all, and to feel anxious for this ridiculous reason which should not even be a thing. In the mean time I am still waiting to hear something from NVC, and trying to be a good little citizen and not start calling them to soon.

Ok whew, I feel a bit better, sorry y'all.

That's funny about the CDO/OCD. Wait, instead of the NVC, don't you mean the CNV?  LOL

Seriously though, according to the process timeline guide here on VJ, it says we can call the NVC 2 weeks after NOA2 to check on our case. I looked at your NOA2, and that would put today as 2 weeks for you. Perhaps you should give them a call.

That was my plan. The fact that I am on a west coast makes things challenging. Anyway, after 90 min wait on hold (it took a few tries before I was even able to get into the hold queue, otherwise it would just hangup)  I was told they do not have my case yet and it can be "up to 6 weeks"

Was glad to see handful more approvals today, hopefully there will be some happy news delivered with evening mail as well.

They meant it could take 6 weeks just to receive the application or to also process it? Ugh. I think I read on here that best time to call the NVC is precisely at 7am EST when they open.

Good luck. I hope they ramp up processing quickly for all of us.

Whatever it is, it should only be 4 weeks now, since 2 weeks already passed, and he did emphasize it was worst case scenario. The shutdown still continuing soon into what soon will be 3rd week is not helping the cases. I know USCIS still processing the cases, and NVC is too, but Embassies websites got shiny new banner:

So I know while visa machinery is still creaking along, there is a monkey with a wrench not helping things.

Unfortunately, this is something I've seen with RapidVisa again and again and again... They are not lawyers, they are document filing service, they really have no "skin" in the game, and in most cases they don't have to worry about repeat business. I would love to see actual statistics of people getting RFE who used them vs the ones who didn't.

Very common RFEs I saw in my time on this forums (last 6 months or so) are

  • Prove online dating place you've met is not IMBRA. This also includes forgetting to check IMB checkbox on 129F
  • We need 2 letters of intentions, instead of one signed by 2 people.
  • Document is too blurry/not eligible
  • Divorce decree is not "final" form that they expect.

I assume you are filing for Ghana, you might try contacting for your future Packet 3 information. Unfortunately it seem US Embassy in Ghana official website is rather empty. Good luck, hope you hear something soon!

just wanted to let you know...i found packet 3 for country i needed...thx.

Hello guys! I am extremely excited, NOA2 notification received today. It feels amazing to know that the longest part of this process is finally over with. I could not believe my eyes when I saw it. Part of me was expecting an RFE but it was not the case. The new website still shows received but the old website has been updated with the approval.

NOA1: 3rd of August 2018
NOA2: 10th of January 2019

Good luck for everyone else still waiting!! May the approvals come pouring in!

Congrats! I'm also anxiously waiting my noa1 August 3 approval 😁

Hello! After days of checking mail notification, trackers for USCIS, old and new website and all saying received I decided to call USCIS and speak to a representative. After many prompts and being on hold I spoke to an agent and she informed me that OUR APPROVAL NOTICE WAS MAILED JANUARY 8!!!!! This is so exciting!!! She congratulated me and I couldn’t even think straight to hear how to access the site. It is a little disappointing that no updates are on the sites or tracker but I am sure glad I called! NOA1 is August 8,2018

patiently waiting next next to the mailbox now!

Congratulations. Come on over to this thread and join the many others who were just approved. Lots of information to help.
