Hello Everyone, I wish I had more time to participate in this thread, it seems that it has grown so much with so much useful information!

It's great to see that there are actual NOA2's already for december, Congratulations!!! Unfortunately, I doubt VSC will see any of these NOA2's anytime soon.

Dizzy- I was wondering if you can please update our service center- we are under the name "tobey" - we are at VSC

The waiting continues...

Thank you all for the congrats! I was hoping to log in and see some more... I'm super happy but also kinda feel bad because I want EVERYONE to get their NOA2! I know someone else's file had to be in or near the box mine was!!

OK.. Sonoko forgot to send me her recipe instructions for a yummy comfort food from Okinawa, Yakisoba so we will get that later. But I will post one that I love, it is Okinawa Soul food!

Taco Rice (measurements are to your liking)

You will need:

Short-medium grain rice (Nishiki is what I use.. Japanese style)

Ground Beef

Powdered taco flavoring(works best)

Cheese

Lettuce

Tomato

Salsa

1. Cook the rice as directed on the package.

2. Cook the Ground Beef and stir in the taco seasoning.

3. When cooked, pile a healthy portion of rice on a plate.

4. On top of the rice pile the taco seasoned beef.

5. Add cheese, tomato, lettuce and salsa as desired.

6. Eat.. it's sooo yummy!

Easy easy!!

Read this about medical exam today...

"As the medical exam results are normally valid for 12 months, you should complete your examination as soon as possible. You do not need to have received your appointment letter in order to attend your medical examination. An immigrant visa will NOT be issued until a U.S. consular officer has reviewed the results of the medical examination for each applicant."

If the medical is valid for 12 months, do we even have to wait for the NOA2 to complete the medical??

Yes - you need to have your embassy case number before you can take the medical - case numbers start with an acronym for the embassy (for example a case number of NWD2008521001 would be New Delhi (NWD), 2008 (year), 521 (day in year) 001 (order number of the day's cases)). Without the case number, it would be more involved joining the medical to your file, hence they want you to take medical after NOA2 case number is received fro the NVC.
