This might sound like a silly question since the whole point is to get Emilio to the U.S. but does anyone have any idea how much time he can spend outside of the U.S. once he has his green card?

Is it only 1 month per year or 2 or 3 or what? lol

Hiya!

You need the USCIS Advanced Parole (travel documents) and Instructions. Here they are and the form you can grab from this link.:star:

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-131instr.pdf

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=b11747a55773d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCRD&vgnextchannel=f15b6d26d17df110VgnVCM1000004718190aRCRD

I do not see how long they can remain out of USA so I don't want to make comment. Hope this helps.

You're actually with the faster of the two service centers. Right now CSC is on track to approve you in around five to six months from NOA1. VSC is the one that's slow at the moment with a backlog of petitions that's rapidly closing in on seven months. CSC's finishing up some September filers and in the middle of doing October filers. I estimate they'll be done October sometime in mid-April and move on to November. Assuming they take a month with November, you lucky CSC filers might start seeing December approvals as early as May. But I'm just speculating because I can't give anyone a definitive date. Just rest assured, you are with the faster of the two service centers right now.

Like Piefre said, for the I-129F, CSC is processing faster than VSC at the moment. K-1's are a drop in the bucket compared with other petitions being filed at either service center - something like 1% - so they aren't given much priority. It is what it is... hang in there, we're all in the same boat :P

Morning and Welcome to the December K1 Thread.

When I invited you, it was to come and meet everyone, we're all very supportive!

Please refrain from complaining about the lengthy process of the CSC or VSC or the USCIS. We all know the "USCIS posted goal time of 5+ mos", is only an estimate, not a promise. It's hard enough to wait as it is and bringing it here only deepens those waiting pains for everyone. Trust us, we're all in this together and stand behind you! We have a great Thread Map that will help you get around on this thread and it also will help prepare you with the documents you will need so when you do get your NOA2, you are beyond ready. That's how you get through the waiting pains and the time is well utilized. How about your wedding plans? Do you have those sorted out .... even if none of us are sure when our beneficiaries are coming, some wedding tasks can still be thought out. Right now our Decemberite family is doing a Fitness Challenge! It really does help with the stress and you'll look fabulous on your wedding day!!

Please join us and come have some fun!

Mari

PS: CSC is a little bit faster than the other two right now, so sit tight. Your Sweetheart is coming!! :star:

OMG, the most bizarre thing just happened! I have faithfully checked the USCIS website for my case status every day since receiving my NOA1 (truth be told, sometimes 2 or even 20 times a day...I'm that level of #######). Every time it has had the sames message...On December 1, 2010, we received...yadda yadda yadda.

You know what it says now?

On November 26, 2010, we received this yadda yadda yadda.

Holy #######! They changed dates! That is so weird...I guess this means I'm no longer a December filer too! Oh well, try to kick me out...jus try!

If they're pushing up the date that can't be a bad thing! lol. But since I'm at VSC... I won't even bother checking. I know NOTHING has changed there!
