LOL mandamus or class action for what?  To prevent the US government from allowing people to bring over spouses they thought were legit, but turned out not to be?

Just wondering how many people were "duped" into thinking they were in a actual relationship, just to find out shortly afterwards you were not....and were essentially used for a green card.
There is a possibility of preventing this from happening to anyone else....if we brainstorm and work together!!!!
Naysayers, please keep in mind that we petitioners spent considerable amounts spent time, energy and money, so be kind. And finally, any negativity is not appreciated here. If you haven't been in our shoes...how would you even know how we feel????

My friend that is a lawyer says that it is more common when you marry within 1 year of meeting in person, met online and  immediately start sending money and buying gifts, does not introduce you to family and friends, among others.  

I think you should go for it if you can afford it,if you’ve been following the entire thing since there wasn’t even a lawsuit , you’d know that it’s helped many couples. It’s worth a short and I’ve seen most people that filed already married from the first round. The second round most already have their interviews. 
 
I wouldn’t trust what the state department says because they always contradict. Yes they say that the plaintiffs won’t be given priority but how come the embassies are ONLY scheduling for plaintiffs? They also said k1s will be given high priority when things resume ,that was false. I also suggest you ask this question in a group about k1 visas like on Facebook or something other than here because most people on here seem to dislike the entire visa category. 

Brutal. I don’t see how people go along with the k1 nowadays. That timeframe is out the door.

Thank you everyone for their comments! We've been debating either to join or not for a week now - our case is at NVC but since January only so there is no 'unreasonable delay'. We actually almost paid but than I saw the tweet from Jeff and was a bit confused too  We decided to join regardless, 2K isn't that much for a chance to be with your loved one. It's just sad we had to go this way.. but oh well if it's the only way!

So heartbreaking for those trying to get K1s. Embassies are using the ban as an excuse to not process.

You told them you dropped your wife off at 7am to 10am when the truth was that you dropped her off the night before.  When they went to check the engine, they knew you didn't tell them the truth.

Your wife told them that she took Uber which is inconsistent with you dropping her off at 7am to 10am AND you saying you dropped her off the night before.
 
You are not done with everything.  This is just the beginning.  At this point, you need to go see a good immigration lawyer.  

Mostly everyone is stuck at the nvc stage 

I should be more clear, I'm talking exclusively about the NOA1. In 3 months, I have received nothing and only the run around from the lockbox facility. There are many of us on this forum waiting for the NOA1. So essentially now if they choose to reject an application for one reason or another, we have lost 3 months because of their failure to process applications and cash the check in a timely manner. They clearly have stopped processing them altogether.

You have only filed a K-1 since October 27.  If you are so impatient, move to Ukraine and live happily ever after there.  Seems your expectation on how fast things should progress is not realistic at all given we are in a worldwide pandemic..  
 

Confusion everywhere 

That is the thing, every couple has to make their own decisions.  Not everyone can drop everything, move around the world and spend several months waiting for the slow USCIS processes.  Alternatively, people should be aware of all their legal options which is why a service like VJ with many experienced members have researched and witnessed the process.  Immigration in general is stressful especially when it is family based and deals with immediate relatives.  The simple fact is that immigration lawyers and USCIS phone reps are not the end all of the information out there.

Don't expect a big overhaul
legal and illegal immigration has needed changes for 20-30 years and the Democrats and Republicans have both been in control over those years
you will probably see some EO's but not the big overhaul that is needed

Get OP! I did it after the advice on this forum and many others in our situation (with pending k1) also. It was the best option at the time and I don’t regret it for a minute. I got my advance parole and employment docs already, just waiting for the interview. If you have any questions I can do my best but this forum has never led me astray

No visas in the shipment,  NVC doesn't issue visas.  Maybe the i129f petition in the package but certainly not any visas.
