You can guesstimate the date, you wouldn’t get penalized for not having an exact move-in/move-out day/date.

Don’t list N/A in the name section, otherwise that would be assumed as part of your name. Even though the form sales to list N/A and not leave any section blank, you’re still expected to use your discretion in doing so. Don’t list N/A where it doesn’t make sense to do so.

thanks for everyone, we can for sure afford $1170 for my minor child(single) to have his own certificate..it has no expiration date and my child can use his own certificate for his own life after he grows up.

for the N600,part8, i will sign my child's full name(YYY) and followed by "( by father: XXX)" and part 10 ,preparer : this will be my information who prepared this form and signed my full name.

Sm1smom got a reaction from TM92 in Greencard "Resident Since" date is wrong, flight to go home in november.
What you need to do, IMO, is to file the I-90 now which will require you to send in the GC. Upon receipt of the NOA for the replacement filing, take the acceptance notice to your FO and get an I-551 stamp (temporary GC) on your passport which you can then use for your return trip. You jump start the replacement process clock this way, rather than waiting until your return before starting what will be a long process.

And yes, make sure you use the GC to get an updated SSN card before mailing it back for replacement, assuming you currently have a SSN card which has the DHS restrictions written on it.

An INFOPASS appointment is typically required to visit the FO. However, if you have a compelling reason to visit without a previously scheduled INFOPASS appointment, the guards at the entrance my be lenient enough to let you in.

I honestly think a moderator should lock up this thread to prevent people from coming up with all sorts of wrong suggestions. The right response (which is ‘NO’ on the DS260 form) was already provided in the first two pages of this thread, I don’t get why some with absolutely no understanding of the DV process continue to post all kinds of other irrelevant suggestions. Just saying!

It is never a good idea to volunteer unsolicited information. It ends up doing more harm than good in the long run. The first unwritten rule regarding immigration is to never lie. Next in line is to not volunteer unsolicited information.

If they ask if OP has ever played the visa lottery, the obvious response would be yes, even though he was never selected.

    OP,
Relax and stop getting stressed up over this. Even if he submitted the eDV registration for visa lottery himself directly on the government website, the correct answer to that question will still be “No”. Submitting a visa lottery registration form is NOT the same as applying for a visa. As long as he didn’t fill and submit an DS230 (immigration petition in used back then) following a visa lottery selection, he never applied for a visa.

If you and your sister had applied for the SB-1 visa when you both turned 18, you would have had a stronger chance of approval IMO since you were minors and had no control over your parents’s decision to leave and not return.

I wouldn’t discourage you from giving it a shot now even though 10 years is a long time to have been away and you’re no longer a minor. If you can afford the fee, it’s worth a shot IMO.

Sm1smom got a reaction from Unlockable in SB1 Visa - need your input please
No, an SB1 is NOT an authorization for a LPR to leave the US for a period of upto to years, that is a re-entry permit. SB-1 is a returning resident visa applied for at an embassy by a LPR who has stayed outside the US for over one year or beyond the validity of a re-entry permit. SB-1 May help if the OP is able to convince the consulate the stay was beyond her control.

Wrong, he is not principal, he doesn’t need to fulfil the DV eligibility requirements. He must of course fulfill the normal immigrant visa requirements re criminal record, medical etc.

This smells of a fraudulent attempt to me, and I’m willing to bet the CO will equally see it as such. You’re only trying to get married to her because of the DV selection - you’re both looking at a lifetime ban from the US if you proceed with her.
