when the K-1 visa is issued it’s valid for 6 months so as long as you don’t start your program the exact same day she’s issued the visa, it should be fine

This is not accurate.

Islamabad is slammed. Just like for Immigration visas there's a 2 year wait. K1's are so rare there but you got a good 2 years before you even get a interview. If things don;t change. So really there's no issue.
But to answer your question no there's no extension by you of your NOA2.

Also you aren't planning the Nikkah are you? If you do Nikkah, you are considered married and void your K1. And yes the embassy does check since those are registered. There  has been a big problem with this and why K1's are so dare rare from Islamabad.

Hi Everyone,

I got engaged to my fiance back in January and filed my I-129F in Early February. I got my NOA1 on Feb 14th 2023. Everything so far is good. The only thing I want to ask is this:

1) I might soon be starting Federal Police Academy (This is six months long)

2) With above mentioned situation, I know that after the K-1 is issued, I have six months to go pick her up and bring her here to marry her within 90 days. I have no problem marrying her within 90 days of her arriving in the US. My only worry is if the K1 is issued while im in the middle of police academy. There is no way I can get out of police academy until its complete. Can I request to be given more time to be allowed to go get her and bring her back here?

This is for Pakistan. Please let me know.

Thanks so much.

Not an issue, as the visa process will likely take 2 years. So if you start the police training soon it will be long done before a potential visa is issued.

I second what others have said - if they find out about you religious ceremony (could be anything from a text message or email on her phone, to photos on social media etc), she will no longer be able to use the K-1 visa as they will look at her as married, no longer a fiance. You will then have to start over with a spousal visa (ie another 2 year long process).

Well said.  The OP should be more concerned with that traditional ceremony.

Yeah it is the nikkah. So I will adjust and avoid doing it over there. I guess I will bring her here and have the nikkah. But my question is my brother did the nikkah and then came over here and did the legal marriage in the court. How did that go through?

They just weren't caught.

They just didn’t find out & your brother didn’t get caught. But if they do, they can and will take steps to revoke her status because the visa was invalidated by having a nikah. Do you want to take that risk and have that hang over your head in future immigration steps?

There are plenty of threads here whose K1 visa was denied for this reason.

Some percentage of violations of immigration are not caught. There is however no statute of limitations. If he is caught, there can be repercussions.

As future federal law enforcer you will have an interesting dilemma regarding your brother and his wife.

Wel what can I do to get more time if I need it? Can I get an extension on the noa2? The reason I have to go is cause in our culture we have a religious ceremony prior to marriage

If you do this, she will no longer be eligible for the K-1 visa.

Fraud was committed, whether he realized it or not.

OP, you should just give up the K-1 process and get married if you need to have the religious ceremony first.

Pakistan is very high fraud, if you’re smart, you won’t do anything to add to that perception.
