  2. *** Topic moved from Bringing Family members of US citizens to the US (consular processing) to AOS work/tourist/student visas - this is an adjustment case, not consular *** I-485 form is the applicant’s form so she has to answer the questions as they relate to her, not you.
  3. OP has given an update: Zombie thread is now closed. VJ Moderation
  4. I have already mentioned that spouses of US citizens are forgiven for overstay. This has also been answered earlier by Crazy Cat. Visa number availability is not applicable to immediate relatives of US citizens. File both concurrently. I also second advice on finding a good lawyer.

  6. *** Topic moved from K1 fiancé visa forum to What Visa do I need forum ***
  7. *** Topic moved to What Visa Do I need forum as OP is asking about options *** Agreed regarding K1. Regarding sponsoring a spouse, I-485 is not applicable as that’s for those who are adjusting within the US. So that leaves I-130/I-130a only.
  8. *** Topic moved from K1 forum to AOS K1 forum - this now an adjustment form K1 case - please post in this forum section regarding AOS questions *** If the DS-3025 is marked as complete then there’s nothing further that needs to be done - unless you’d like to receive additional vaccinations for personal reasons.
  9. *** Topic moved from K1 forum to AOS K1 forum - this now an adjustment form K1 case ***
  10. *** Topic moved from CR1/IR1 forum to US Citizenship General discussion - this is regarding US citizenship, not a spousal visa process ***
  11. Yes, you will need an original BC for the interview. Yes, you must include photocopies of the originals like BC and MC. The part you quoted is NVC - national visa center which is completely different from USCIS
  12. *** Topic moved from DCF forum to CR1/IR1 Progress Reports - this is not a DCF case ***
  13. *** Topic moved to Military Immigration related discussion ***
  14. You need a marriage certificate before you file AOS. There’s no other option than to wait for one. Meanwhile, I would start getting the forms and paperwork in order so it’s ready as soon as you have the marriage certificate. Also, do not send originals to USCIS. Photocopies only.
  15. From the years I have been on here, there hasn’t been any other solution that to keep checking. I know it took some people weeks to a few months to finally find an appointment. I remember one member who emailed the consulate after weeks and weeks of trying and they were able to help. This didn’t work for others.

  19. Whatever you do to minimize possible contact with police. Depending on a state, regular police can refer to ICE if they suspect a person is in the country unlawfully. Anyone can be stopped by the police at any time, including if you’re passenger in car so probably don’t drive or be a passenger in a car… this is just one example though
