Putin is a genius.  Put a bunch of troops along the border for training.  Let the satellites pick them up.  The price of gas goes up, profits go up for Russia, and pays for the training exercises plus a few million more.

I was thinking the same thing.  Putin could have taken Ukraine anytime in 2014 through 2017 if he wanted.  Don't we regularly run military exercises to piss off KJU?

To me it all seems scarily too much like WW2. You have those like British PM Chamberlain who wanted to believe Hitler would stop being aggressive in taking over countries, just as so many think Putin won't try to re-establish the former Soviet Empire. You had an axis of evil, Germany/Japan/Italy. But now the axis is Russia/China/Iran/North Korea. In WW2, the USA thought they could stay and should  stay out of it, and just supply weapons to Great Britain, just as we now are doing for Ukraine and our NATO allies. Japan and Germany were rapidly building up their militaries and might in WW2, and now it is Russia and China. Yet in the end it was one, full blown, world war. It just seems to me, so similar, then and now.

Cept in WW2 they didn't have ICBM s that could wipe our country off the face of the Map from the other side of the world

Ukraine probably wishes it had nukes.  
 

If Ukraine survives this, I expect it will get nukes.

What seems evident is the leaders in the West and especially our current inept leader seem to be promoting and pushing an invasion.  Somehow we now know Putin will invade/escalate on Wednesday, how do we know this?  Kind of eliminates a potential surprise.
