Can you get into trouble for talking to the opposite gender online if you're already with someone in a relationship. My partner cheated with other women online. When i entered the relationship it was 100 percent genuine, and things eventually broke apart and we are not close anymore, it is a long distance relationship. Is talking and flirting to the opposite gender online illegal in the US? The women who he was flirting with were not in the US. Is cheating illegal in the US? What if my partner flirted with someone online?

Still not illegal.

In some parts of the USA you can sue for Alienation of Affections. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alienation_of_affections#United_States . However the plaintiff has to be married. Good luck collecting damages from your law suit.

What did I just read? Of course it’s not illegal. It’s not 1950s anymore

Would love to FTFY and s/1950s/1660s/ but this site's T&C prevent me from doing so.

What's the immigration question?

None of what you described is illegal.  People can talk to people of the opposite sex, cheat on their partners, flirt, etc. and none of that is a crime.

It was a common literary plot device in American sitcoms and movies through the early 1970s.  Searching the web, I see that it is still being used, but I don't watch much broadcast TV any more as I am on a fixed income and can only afford Prime and Netflix.

OF, instagram all quite common nowadays
