To be honest, the last 8 presidents have been objectively terrible, from an economic, as well as foreign and domestic policy standpoint. They have turned this country over to the ultra wealthy, both liberal and conservative, and leveraged their support by bending over for the ultra religious zealots. There is way too much support for religion, and socialism in this country.

So Gerald Ford was the last good President? Huh.

Nixon. I won't judge a Biden Administration on three weeks worth of work. I'm not in favor of several of his policies, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for a year or so.

Nixon's engagement with China and the Soviet Union, and his support for civil rights were winners for sure. He also tried to pass big health care reforms; it's too bad he didn't succeed. But I agree that he was probably the last real conservative Republican. Once we get to Reagan, it's all about making the wealthy wealthier on the backs of the poor and middle class.

Back when conservatives didn't care about what people did in the privacy of their own homes, or with whom, and liberals weren't so obsessed with  regulating everything. Too bad Nixon was a narcissist who wasn't content with just winning by a landslide, no, it had to be a historical event for his ego.

Here's an opinion that covers both sides:

https://redstate.com/brandon_morse/2021/02/18/what-exactly-did-you-want-ted-cruz-to-do-n329048

I think that Cruz would have drawn criticism even if he'd sought out a local hotel that had heat and light. He'd have been accused of "selfishly taking up a room that some other family could have had."

I have neighbors who went to hotels, and I myself even bailed out for one night.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Our hottest President, by far, was Rutherford B. Hayes, but ONLY when he was young. Hayes could get it:

I guess if I was suffering under the current conditions many Texans are suffering under, and I learned that my Senator (Republican or Democrat) had gone on vacation in the middle of a disaster, I'd be pretty salty about that. It's a leadership thing.

Well I AM in Texas, and I am not upset or even the least bid concerned.  I know that our Governor had already requested federal aid, and FEMA was already in action.  Once again, the libs are more concerned with their "feelings" than anything else.

We are very extremely fortunate.  We had rolling blackout for only 1 day in my neighborhood about 30 miles NE of downtown Dallas. Power off for 15 minutes, then power on for an hour. They were terminated yesterday.  Our small town has not been placed under a boil water order since we had enough water stored in our municipal tanks. My outside faucets are frozen, so I am waiting to see if I have any broken pipes once they thaw  (maybe today).  Thanks.  I appreciate your well wishes.
