Yep, I would like to see an actual accounting rather than the words of a DC politician.

I just received an itemized receipt. The money went to the following donations:

Houston Food Bank (EIN: 74-2181456)
Feeding Texas (EIN: 74-2762542)
ECHO (Ending Community Homelessness Coalition) (EIN: 27-4449243)
Family Eldercare (EIN: 74-2286387)
The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center (EIN: 45-3452817)

100% of my donation is accounted for, split evenly across these charities.

Here's the URL for the fundraiser: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/aoc-social-20210218/

And if you absolutely cannot bring yourself to donating through this fundraiser, maybe reach out to any or all of those I just listed and make individual donations.

You need to look at the specific charities involved here. moxy listed them. ActBlue is just being used as a platform here.

I would LOVE to see Ted Cruz start his own fundraising campaign for the people of his state by partnering with charities to help the people of Texas get through this and recover. I will match my donation to AOC's campaign if he does.

I'll also match. We're a cynical bunch here, but this should be beyond politics.

Yep. As I said, 100% of my donation was passed on to those charities. There were no fees, nothing skimmed off the top. Here's a copy of my receipt. I've blurred out the numbers because that's nobody's business. But Dashinka, if you want me to PM you the un-blurred receipt privately, I'm happy to do that.

I tend to agree, but with a charity that has no rating on Charity Navigator, would you give them money.  Better to find a better rated charity directly in TX.

Do that then. Find a charity you're cool with that is helping Texans get through this.

Here's a link from Charity Navigator with four 3 or 4 star organizations focused on recovery and aid during the winter storms: https://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=content.view&cpid=8555

I don't really care how much you donated that is your own business, or the fact that you or anyone donated at all.  That being said, there are many charities out there that are really bad, and much like @laylalex, I use Charity Navigator to evaluate if a charity is worth giving to, this one has no rating which does not mean good or bad, but that there is not enough information to evaluate.  As to if I donate or not, that is my business, I do not look for personal praise.

Nobody's looking for personal praise. You expressed skepticism that all of the donation was really going to the charities. I provided proof.

I'm glad you're looking in to helping people get through this disaster though. Respect.

Consider Direct Relief and Family Promise, both 4 star rated charities. Sorry to bang the drum. I don't do this for praise, I do it to do good in the world. I am very, very lucky to be housed and warm and safe and loved. Events like this bring that even more into relief.

And if you have family in Texas, care packages and straight-up cash are helpful. I have relatives in TX, and none of their local stores are open. We shipped them a bunch of canned and dry goods, they appreciated that.
