My I-765 was approved yesterday, after 200 days of waiting and 2 service requests! Keep faith if you havent gotten yours yet, my case is complicated as hell and I got mine.

Yay! Let's hope so.  Remember I expedited my EAD so perhaps your interview date is just round the corner. Fingers crossed for you.

For those who have had their interview at their local field office . . . . I have a couple of questions.

 

1) Medical

 

Is my medical still valid? I had my K1 medical in London in January 2019.  I.m waiting on my interview date, but it is likely to be November / early December.

 

2) Medical Insurance

 

I do not currently have medical insurance. My wife is self employed and has only catastropic coverage herself (at $400 a month - God bless the NHS!).  I am however at second interview stage myself for several jobs which would include medical coverage for us both, but I will not have in time for the interview.  Is medical coverage essential for the interview?  We have other legal and financial information with both our names on such as rental agreement, bank accounts and car insurance policy.

 

3) Full checklist

 

Can someone please share the full documentation check list for the interview so I can start getting prepared?

Yes your medical is valid if it's less than a year old so you should be fine. I don't know about medical insurance requirement, I haven't seen it anywhere that that has been asked.

The medical is still valid because you submitted the I-485 within 1 year of the K-1 medical exam date. https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-8-part-b-chapter-3 "K or V Nonimmigrants Applying for Adjustment"

Technically, the SSN is only needed for IRS Form W-4 purposes. You can try to start work with just the EAD. An example of a VJ user working before the SSN was issued:

Just completed our interview about an Hour ago jn Nashville . We were there about 2 hours. We were separated... lots of question. Husband messed up on color of Curtains in bedroom  and If there is a window in the bathroom.

No decision yet.....😳

Has anyone changed their maiden name before the AOS interview? I want to take my husbands last name but i don’t know how I should proceed. I’ve heard I can bring a letter to the interview and request the immigration officer to issue my GC with my married name even though I used my maiden name for my filings. Any thoughts or experience with this?

The approval notices have the exact dates. I-765 was approved on 09/20 and I-131 was approved on 09/24. Since my renewal applications were approved on different days my EAD says "NOT VALID FOR REENTRY TO U.S." and my AP is a standalone document (see the following example):
