It took us 2 months from biometrics to the case is ready to be scheduled for interview. I got my EAD/AP without expediting and I'm fully aware that in SF field office, it takes 18 to 23 months to get the interview that's why I'm curious where @Shiran local office is. Not all office in CA as backlogged as SF. I have a friend from San Bernardino who got GC in 5 months.

I am assigned to the San Francisco office and it took about 5 months to have my I-485 ready to be assigned for interview.  But the wait times for actual I-485 interviews for San Francisco are currently 18 to 26 months. 😧  https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

I see you got your EAD card in 107 days!   Did you expedite your request, or were you lucky to get one so quickly?  I am currently at 200 days of waiting.  😧

EAD in 107 days without expedite, that's unbelievable!!! Congrats buddy!

Thanks!! I'm thinking the NBC thought our file was good enough and transferred it to our local office in SF on May 15. I mean they didn't need to send an RFE or something. And so they could issue EAD/AP one week later. You can see my timeline on my signature. In addition to well prepared documents, I also wrote my travel plan with exact dates. I didn't say unknown. So maybe that's why the IO adjudicated my file quickly. But I'm up to renew my EAD/AP this january if we haven't heard from USCIS soon!

You may have a very good point...   While I believe my documents were well and accurately prepared, and I have not received any RFEs, my details for travel were not specific.  So, your suggestion is a possibility.   It would be interesting to hear from others who have delayed APs as to how they documented travel plans.   Thanks for sharing your ideas.

That's great. Unfortunately I'm under SF local office jurisdiction so I'm more interested to know how other SF filers are doing.

Hi Shiran,

Thank you so much. I called SSN Administration yesterday and they said that I am registered as "authorized to work" and they can't explain why this could not be verified.

How were you able to add the A-number to your profile? Did you call the e-verify or USCIS for assistance?

Thank you so much.

Best,

Anna

Hello everyone, my husband received combo card yesterday, and the Social Security office says the social was applied for 6 days ago. About how long until he gets it in the mail? Most jobs require you enter your SSN that he is looking into...

With the security questions.. they totally don’t apply because I have no credit record in the US. I moved here from Europe, so there is no history...

Ahh. Ok, that might be different. We got SSN and were able to open joint account, so maybe there was enough there to be able to create an account. If they were able to verify you at SSA you should be fine then. The Employer will have account already, and / or be enrolled in e-Verify, so they would not have security questions issue.

Update on my EAD/AP renewal:

Hi Shiran,

I just reached out to my HR now to check if everything is in order so we won’t run into any troubles in the first week :)
