The literal creation of this thread is  the OP questioning his own ex and looking for a way to circumvent her wishes in order to still move to the US.

Not really sure how you missed that correlation.

I guess you didn't read my first reply to OP. I'll say it one more time: nobody knows what happened between two people except the two of them. Things can look very different to a third (fourth, seventeenth, hundred and eleventh...) person.

"Life is a journey." At this moment, it's taking me to the USA to the woman I love.

Thank you. That is how I was reading it. I apologize if I come off a little emotional about things -- it was a total mess of a relationship that I am still recovering from and that my current fiance has to deal with.

If you want to call me weak, that's fine. I was young and impressionable. I'm not so much now.

Never intended to. I'm sorry you felt attacked.

Listen just come over to her if you know her address or whatever and she is still acting up, hire a lawyer and you will be fine with adjusting your status. Don’t waste time over there

100% wrong!!!!  He will have no basis to adjust status.....

After reading this thread, I think it is highly likely that the USC has notified CBP and the consulate.......If so, the OP will be lucky to penetrate the US border.

Thank you. And I am sorry I lashed out, I have continuing "ex drama" that never seems to die, so I am very sensitive when something I read here hits too close to home.

Totally agreed on this.  The fact that OP is even considering getting a lawyer really indicates that they're in it for the green card, not for love.

OP if she says you shouldn't go - then thats what it means.  A "grand" gesture like getting on a plane and just showing up will not be welcome, appreciated or wanted. That is the very definition of gross, creepy behavior and as much of a red flag as your use of "acting up" - she is a grown woman and can act in any way she wants to without your permission or approval.

IMO this lady got out while the going was good. No one wants to be married to a misogynist who rebukes their spouse's behaviour online while simultaneously planning on violating the boundaries set by their spouse.

Sorry but this is really an interesting thread.....  I think everything else that is being proposed as potential problems, what to do, how to refer to your fiance, etc is completely irrelevant.  You hit the nail on the head with your second sentence.  Conversation done!  If he really loves this woman and that is indeed his TRUE concern, no reason whatsoever to even bring up the lawyer.  To what end?!?!

Fair enough. I appreciate your apology though.

I'm sorry to hear that your previous relationship still haunts you, I hope you'll be able to close that chapter and move on, on your way to being with the man you love. Good luck on your journey!

I completely understand "previous life" implications on a new relationship. I have first hand experience. For the first years of our marriage,  I was at the receiving end of this with my wife. She will be emotional and after blaming me and some arguments, she admits she's sensitive due to being hurt from the past. We are still passing through this phase as we speak, but it is much better than yesterday. Even the term "lazy", said in a calm and collected manner, would bring a fight.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.
