I received a text message on 12/31/2019 that my status was updated... Both websites say the following: :D

Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview

As of December 31, 2019, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number XX, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Houston is really slow, but I hope I get my EAD and AP soon...

Can you not try a brick and mortar bank ? I opened with Wells Fargo, like your experience they wont let me open online for a non resident but it told me to apply in branch so I went with my documents (i had a SS number) and they opened a checking account no problem, just needed $25 to deposit into the account.

So strange that these banks seem to follow different protocols but no, we did not try a brick and mortar bank.   The primary reason is that she did not get the GC or the Combo card and we could not get the SSN anyway.   I think most banks, including WF would require at minimum the SSN.   She just got that now this week.  Tomorrow is the second I-485 meeting....which we don't understand....but are hopeful the GC is on the way after that meeting, and all will be good in our world.

You surely answered my question though.......it IS possible to get an account without the GC at some banks.   I wanted to know so I was fully informed for this interview tomorrow, as I've documented why we could not add her to my existing accounts.   I'm better prepared now if they ask why we didn't go to a brick and mortar bank.

Many thanks for your reply !!

Our interview will be on February 11th. On the items that we need to bring it says birth certificate of petitioner. Since I'm a naturalized citizen, do I need to bring my foreign certificate along with a translation?

Thanks in advance!

I just received a message that my EAD card is being produced! I am so happy! I actually have a job interview today at a really great company and I was nervous about not getting my EAD on time... God's plans are perfect.

They received my second request for evidence for my 485 just over a week ago, my 765 is still at expedite request information received which was 24 days ago. Was suppose to start work today if I was to receive EAD which I submitted expedite request well over a month ago, work start date has been pushed back to the 21st January and I don’t think they will push it back anymore than this and I will lose the position. Do you think it’s worth calling USCIS sometime this week and following up on this? Thanks.

When you go through the options and then someone answer the phone, just ask to speak with a tier 2 and they will schedule the call (they usually have hours pf waiting so they call you back)

I don’t remember the exact numbers I dialed to get to a representative. I’m sorry I can’t help you with that.
When I spoke to a Tier 2, they told me that my case was fine and not to trust the online case tracker because they don’t update those on all cases, which is unbelievable
