Notice to have biometrics done: May 17th and my biometrics will be June 7th... So fast. I'm excited 😀 my local office is St Albans Vermont!!

Hello everyone! We are about to start our AOS journey and I have a question regarding the BC. I'm from Argentina and we read in other threads that the BC needs to apostilled and translated. I did the apostille but I don't know how to proceed about the translation.

Can anyone give me and advice aboout what to do? Did you use a certified translator or a sworn translator? Did you do it yourself and signed an statement? I just ask because we read so many options and opinions that we don't know what to do and we want to do it the right way.

@andreaam Foreign language documents do not need to be apostilled . My BC was translated by a family member , fluent in both languages and certified by a simple declaration by the translator . Didn ' t get any RFE at any of the stages . ( AOS or fiance visa )

Hey guys, here is my timeline so far:

Local office is Chicago, IL.

04/11/19 - Concurrent filing of the: I-130, I-130a, I-131, I-485, I-765, I-864 with G-1145 form
04/18/19 - NOAs for I-130, I-131, I-485, I-765
04/26/19 - Biometrics notice for 05/15
05/15/19 - Biometrics completed

Now, the long wait begins.

Status of the cases on both of the websites (new website & old website) are as follows:

I-130
- case was received - update: 04/18/19
I-131
- case was received - update: 04/18/19
I-485
- case was received - update: 04/18/19
- fingerprint fee was received - update: 04/18/19
I-765 - case was received - update: 04/18/19

Now, even though all of the alerts are set up (old website, new website, g-1145 forms), I did not receive any email or text message throughout this process yet.

That kinda sucks, but oh well. Honestly, after reading the forums, I did not expect their web/mobile based notification system to work, but was kinda hoping for it somewhere in the back of my mind. 😁

Congrats to everyone who's close to the end of the process and good luck to all of the April and other filers! 😄

When we filed the I-485 form we put the married last name right away so we don't have to change it later. When we went in to get the fingerprints done we brought our marriage certificate to confirm that we are married. They might be able to change it there if you filed the I-485 with your maiden name. I'm not sure though..

Yes. I changed my last name at ssa office and sent the aos and ead forms with new last name Just show the marriage certificate and say you want to change your last name. They will issue you the card with new last name. For the bio appointment. Don’t forget the bring the marriage certificate too
