Hi

In AOS, If I apply for EAD or EAD + AP,  do you think that would make any difference in the processing times?

I´d be fine with just EAD if that comes faster.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Fer

I'm almost certain it doesn't. And until/unless average processing times for AOS get well under six months, I'd be in the camp of strongly recommending applying for AP even if it did slow things down a little; it can be a long time from EAD/AP approval to green card, you don't know what will happen between then and now, and what you think is an emergency may not match with what USCIS thinks is an emergency.

Biometrics done today. Took a little over half an hour since quite a few people were there. Good thing we brought our marriage certificate -- they were strict on proof of "Married Name".

ALWAYS do your EAD/AP. It costs nothing and we have seen too many horror stories where someone thought they didn't need AP and their GC processing took too long and an emergency happened.
Having one/both does not delay anything.
EAD/AP has nothing to do with GC.

The NBC processes ALL EAD/AP applications
GC is processed at your local office.

I'm so worried!

AOS package was sent April 9th to the Chicago office.

Got my receipt number April 16th

Till now no notification for biometrics 😥

Is this normal? I live in Connecticut

It should come within 30 days as per USCIS but usually it comes after week or two.. try calling them and check..

We must have one of the busiest filed offices? Someone in our March filers thread is at the Queens office and they have had their interview scheduled already
