Priority date is the date on which the petition was filed for most visas. There are no priority dates for fiancé(e) visa cases.

Ok thanks

Does anybody know if it is really necessary to update NVC with email address?

As we stated email address as well as mailing address in the petition, I believe NVC should already have them both in the system to update us with the status sooner or later?

unless something has changed you dont need to contact them at ALL. They have all your info.

doing so does nothing than clog up the phone lines for people who legitimately need help or have an issue.

It's not necessary, as they have the petitioner's email. Now if you want them to have the beneficiary's email, that's a different step which requires you to contact NVC. The issue here is sometimes they will email and sometimes they don't regardless whether in the petition or by you contacting NVC with an email.

I would recommend that you call but to use askNVC.gov if you find it necessary to give the emails. Don't make the attempt till they have received your case as it is a small window to get an update done. Again, I think you should leave well enough alone, but it's a free country.

The NOA2 is valid for 4 months, in this time you have to apply for the visa at your embassy or you have to extend it.

So I just called the NVC they got our case, the funny thing is we called on Wednesday before thanks giving in the late afternoon, but they said they didn't have it yet, turns out it showed up shortly after because i just got off the phone and they said they received it on the 21st. Hopefully we have our case number soon. :)
