I have question about DS160 form on last part where the system is asking you to upload pictures, Should it be the visa photo itself or I can upload any of my pictures just for their record on their data base online?

Hi Guys can someone please let me know if you live overseas and haven't been paying taxes because you don't earn as much as explained on the IRS website. What should one submit in this case?

Anybody, whether in the US or elsewhere, has to earn a certain level of income before they are required to file a tax return. It's based on your filing status....Married, single, joint, etc.

In 2016 and 2017, for you with a status Married Filing Separately the cut off is earning equivalent to $4050. If you earned more than that, file a tax return. If you earned less than $4050, you do not file. 2015 was $4000. If you were single for all of a tax year, the amount earned before filing is over $10,000.

Your married affidavit of support (I-864) has instructions telling you what to provide instead of a tax return when you were not required by the IRS to file. Read the instructions before trying to do the form.

While my case is I-130 but it is not spousal one (minor child of USC). And i did get NO2 this early this month (have not received any letters but the status of the case is shown as Approved on USCIS egov website). Is this thread gonna be relevant for me? (right now i am reading the next step of the process)

Also, I am using this time to gather documents because we, like everyone else, want to get a jump on the embassy process.

So far, we've got:

  • DS-160
  • Police Certificate
  • Beneficiary Birth Certificate
  • I-134 (with supporting document from my bank)
  • Updated letters of intent to marry

We are waiting on:

  • I-134 co-sponsor document & supporting documents
  • Signed lease document (to establish domicile for myself)

...and of course, we can't schedule any medical or interview without that pesky NVC #, so technically that goes in the "waiting on" category as well

I am struggling to think of what to provide to prove ongoing relationship...I mean, we've lived together for two years so our chat logs are like, "Can you buy paper towels?" but maybe I'll pick some of our cuter selfies and print those. I also plan on going to the interview with my fiance.

Hi Everyone

We are August filer and received our NOA2 in February 9,  I have a questio  Can we complete the form DS-160 without the NVC case number?

Thank you in advance and I think this is good post :)

Thank you for making this thread! I had a look at the DS-160 and was kind of intimidated. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My to do list for papers to secure include:

○ Police Clearance

○ fresh copies of birth certificate

○ Certificate of No Marriage

○ Transcript of Records and School Diploma (for future use)

Is an updated letter of intent to marry mandatory?

We need a certificate of no marriage if we’ve never been married? Where do you obtain such a document ? ... wouldn’t the most recent tax return prove your status of being single ?

I have a quick question for you guys (UK filer) my fiance just found something on the UK embassy site stating he is to obtain a certified copy of each family members birth certificate even if they are not immigrating with them meaning spouse and children. He has 1 son from a previous marriage that is not immigrating with him does this mean he needs to provide his and his sons as well as mine, our daughter's and my daughter from a previous marriage. That's the first I've heard of it but he got it straight from the US embassy for the UK's site.

The London website has said some version of that for 10 years,  but I don't know anybody who actually had to have that in the last 10 years.  I didn't show anything for my kids remaining in the UK, nor from the ex. The only reason (maybe?) to provide his son's birth certificate is because his son would be covered under his K1 visa and could use the "follow to join" procedure at a later date to get a K2 visa just by going to an interview.  Is there is any chance he might want to do this within the one year follow to join time frame?

No documents from the American fiancé (or her family) are needed at the interview, except the I-134 Affidavit of Support. The rest is all about the person interviewing.

Tip: there is a UK regional forum here on VJ where you will get better London specific information for these kind of questions because everybody in this thread will have different things to prepare depending on their Embassy.

Thank you and no, no chance other than visits. He's 12 and is very attached to the mom.

Is updated means we have to change the dates???? Not the same like we sent before applying for 129-f?
