So here's my story: For about a year and a half I've been dating this girl. We had been very happy together for the most part. But had found out she was married a few months into the relationship. By that time I already had feelings. And decided to stay. Probably against good judgment.She arrived here in the states about two years ago. She met her husband on the internet, she came into the states on a temporary visa, and shortly after married. She soon then had buyers remorse as did her husband that automatically regretted the marriage. And six months later I met her. A lot has happend since all this went on. And was under the impression that he was aware of me (dating this woman) from previous conversations. So I contacted him via social media telling him if I could "help" in any way since their divorce was a mutual decision. Turns out he didn't know about me (which I find hard to believe) and asked her about it. That day she went from saying she loved me, to she didn't want to be together anymore and had no feelings. Apparently he no longer wishes to help her and she seems to have bitter anger towards me. In many aspects I feel she just cares about the GC and nothing else. Please I need help. What do I do?

Looks like she came on a K1 Visa and than got married. Don't know if her husband filed for the Adjust of status (AOS ) that gets her a Green card do you know? That's the only way she gets a green card if he filed. If he didn't file she is SOL.

Even if she divorces him marries you the only way she gets a green card through you is to leave the US and you file a I-130 petition for her, it takes about a year.

But seeing you step way out of bounds and contacted the spouse without telling her (foul) WOW she may never talk to you again. And your instincts tells you she just wants a green card what is there to think about really? Just asking.

Well,I really wasn't looking to be bashed about the situation. I realize how she got here and how she gets the green card. So that's not what I'm asking at all. I've got tangled into a situation in which I was misinformed and was under certain impressions (such as the husband was aware of me) but I'm not looking to marry this person by any means.

If it makes it any better she had her passport on hold and received it already so I'm under the impression that the items to received the green card have been already filed. So I guess what I'm asking is from all this should I even be involved or trust the situation?

As I mentioned already I personally wouldn't trust her.

this situation honestly makes me think if she used the husband to come here, and maybe he doesn't even know she wants to get divorce and is seeing you secretly and then comes back home and has a "happy" marriage. While she is looking for someone else out the house.

Also if she came here and got married the husband had to file for AOS it takes a few months and they pass an interview etc, she is granted a green card that 1 years and 9 months later she must do ROC ( removal of conditions ) for that she needs to go again with her husband to an interview and proof their marriage has been real.

By the timing you mention around 2 years she came here it's like she is about to do that, and if she has been seeing you for over a year... That mean her green card would be in trouble so I belive when the husband said he didn't know about you. Of course not she is being nice to him to get the green card on ROC. And she got mad you ruined her plan and probably said to the husband she won't see you again or who knows and that's why she doesn't talk to you for now. Maybe when she has the green card she will contact you again.

It all looks very sketchy to me and would you trust someone who dates you while married?? The same can be happening to you.

I don't know what exact help you are asking here, but as a woman that's my opinion on her and how she is acting.

She's pissed at you for busting her.

No you should not be involved at all. She is married. She's not an honest trustworthy faithful wife and u don't want to marry her. What is there to be involved with? Move on. There are plenty of single women out there. Best of Luck!

If you have to ask a bunch of strangers what you can or what you should do about your MARRIED GIRLFRIEND that got married for a green card to her now USC husband, to whom you just ratted her out to. Then I would think the answer lies within the question itself... RUN
