joshg345 got a reaction from hkiewife in Had some updates to EAD and GC but nothing on advanced parol
So today I had two updates to my cases! For the I-485 my update was that my interview is being scheduled and for the I-765 that my card is being produced. I'm really happy about it because I only submitted my applications on 16th December 2019!

So I have a couple of questions:
    1. Since my status for I-765 has been updated to 'new card being produced', can I update my status on VJ to approved?
    2. Should I be worried that the status for I-131 hasn't been updated since the case was received? I believe the I-765 and I-131 are the same card, right?

    You will get combo card.
The status of my EAD was showing 'New card is being produced' but AP showed as 'Case was received'. Now a couple of days after the EAD card status, both AP and EAD have changed to 'Case is approved'

The X Ray CD is different to the white envelope. You won’t need the CD for the POE but keep it with you for when you register with a doctor here in case they want to see it. It doesn’t mean much to anyone who is not a medical professional which is why POE officers can’t do anything with it.

The white envelope comes with the passport.

You carry your CD with you and will probably not need to show it to anybody.

Regarding your visa, I certainly hope for you that you will need to sign a piece of paper to get it from the postman - otherwise that would mean they could just dump it wherever, without any tracking or responsibility! Some embassies require the recipient to indicate how they want to receive the visa, so you could check with your embassy.

Ah and btw, congratulations on your approval!

    Good luck!

Somebody is supposed to sign for the visa delivery. If not you signing, then someone who has been given a piece of your ID may sign for you. In reality, the delivery guys don't always ask, but prepare for it anyway.

Nobody in immigration needs to see your x-ray again. Your clearance from TB is noted in writing on your medical report. The white envelope contains your immigration files to hand over (still sealed) at POE. Your passport  and most likely your police certificate will be separate in the courier delivery wrapper for you to retrieve.

Congratulations! I would think a signature would be required, but it may likely depend on the courier service used to deliver. Sometimes when I'm waiting on a delivery that I know will require a signature, I'll call the company to inquiry for more details about delivery time.

Congratulations on the visa, looking forward to hearing about your experience. As for your passport being returned, I'd really hope that you'd have to sign for it. Like others have said, if you don't have to sign for it, it can end up anywhere😁

Instead of all this guessing some people are doing, just read it for yourself on the website where you signed up for your interview.   https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv/information/courier

I had the courier service for my B12 visa and it had to be signed for - but they were fine for my brother-in-law to sign for it, as I wasn’t in when it was delivered 🙃.

From what I remember they scan your passport photos into their system and hand them back to you. As said, if they kept your passport then that’s a good sign

Nothing is expressly mandatory at a London K1 interview as long as you provide something that proves current income.

    The two best choices are:
A signed statement from your employer on business letterhead that states the date and nature of your employment, salary paid, and whether the position is temporary or permanent A copy of your last income federal tax return filed (Include W2 or order a transcript.) I don't see the point of these if you have a job earning over the threshold.
A signed statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institution that states when you opened an account, the total amount deposited for the past year, and thepresent balance of such account A list containing the serial numbers and denominations of bonds and names of the owners (if applicable)

Thanks everyone for giving me your time and answers to my question. I have looked at train times again and found an earlier train that arrives at 8:06am for a great price. So that should give me enough time to get to my appointment at 10:30.

    Thanks so much again!

Why not just push your appointment time back to a later slot? Giving you plenty of time to get down there and sit and chill outside until it's your time to go.  It's very easy to change it on the portal I brought my own interview forward a full week

My appointment time was for 11am and I arrived on the train at 7, so I literally walked most of the way down stopping at Victoria station to drop off my bag and got the underground from there to Vauxhall which took 3 minutes and took my time enjoyed the fresh air and scenery, Vauxhall to the embassy is 10 minute walk at a good pace.

Euston station and underground themselves are side by side if you get in on time you literally have services running 2 minutes apart 9:29, 9:31, 9:33. that will get you to Vauxhall in 10 mins.  Then it's a 10 min walk, 15 if you want a leasurely stroll. Giving you plenty of time outside the embassy especially if you choose to push your time slot back and don't want to spend the evening in London.  When I was there last week at the consulate entrance there was two lines at security one for processing people through security itself the had 15-20 mins before there appointment and the other for anyone who was 30 mins plus and way too early so where being asked to wait until being called forward.  By the time I got through security I was actually late for my appointment time but through no fault of my own as I followed their instruction to the letter.  I was by no means alone in that, once I got through security there is a secondary line which stretched outside from the main building.  But as I came to that line a gentleman from the embassy stepped outside the door and was calling for people with 10 o'clock to half past 10 appointments to come forward and that this was there last call, and that was just after 11am, which I and a few other ceased upon and followed him in past the queue of people and was signed in and given my number and told to take the lift to the first floor, go left and left again at the end of the building and await my number being called.

Anyway good luck with whatever way you decide to go and try not to worry to much about it, it's all pretty relaxed and easy going inside

I have noticed that also. A lot of posts getting noa2 in only 4 months. But I noticed NVC is taking a little longer now, but the time to visa in hand seems to have dropped like you said.

Yes, you can call and book your medical appointment if you have all the documents required. You can also book the interview online if you have the required documents, but leave about 2 weeks after the medical appointment.

No issues regarding the DS160 filed while CEAC says in transit.
