    The holders of an immigrant visas can travel to the US, "activate" their Green cards, then immediately exit the US. I would not tell CBP that you plan to return to Canada right away. The endorsed visa acts as a temporary Green Card until the plastic one arrives. To answer your question, true derivatives cannot immigrate before the primary beneficiary immigrates.

    I have yet to hear the reason Mark Kelley was not chosen. The dems need Arizona, and Kelley seems to be more moderate than Walz.

    From the quotes I have heard, I think he is left of Harris...and proud of it. We will see what rural America thinks about both of them. Shapiro would have been a more logical choice to appeal to moderates....but Kamala and the dem machine's hypocritical hatred got in the way.

    It is possible to delay the children's visas at NVC indefinitely. Contact them or just don't submit fees or documents at NVC for the children's cases. That will hold them there.

    You can mark the box on your I-485. Note: The Visa Journey best practice is for a K-1 entrant to apply before marriage.

    No. Your spouse will automatically become a legal resident (Green Card Holder) as soon as she enters the US via her spousal visa....once her visa is stamped at POE. A plastic Green Card will be mailed to her once she is inside the US (and you have paid the immigrant fee). No need to "file for a Green Card".

    I got my ARC back in 2015. I went through an agency to get that FBI background check. An agency also took it to the TECRO office in DC for the authentication as part of their service. I also had to get a tourist visa from the "consulate" in Houston in order to change my status. I seem to remember using a variety of sources for the process. After I submitted all my paperwork in Taipei, it took about 2 weeks to get the actual card.

    If you entered the US via a K-1, you do not need to submit an I-130 if you married the petitioner within 90 days of arrival. Perhaps studying the VJ guides for adjustment of status will help.
