Rox and I got married at the St. Louis County courthouse today. It was a very touching ceremony. She is adjusting here much better than I could have ever expected. Good luck to everyone...

VIP_LadyLuck reacted to rrobin0609 in Getting a US Drivers Licence after K-1 (Missouri)
My wonderful husband, @JunkTardis, just got his US drivers licence today! He passed with a 98%! I've seen a lot of people inquire about what they need and while I know every state is different, I thought it would be helpful to share what was needed in Missouri.

    - I-94
    - Passport with K-1
    - Social Security Receipt (after applying) OR know your SSN

He only needed his I-94 and passport to sit the tests, and when getting his physical licence they asked for his I-94 and Social Security receipt. You can take the written and practical in the same day. If you can arrive the at the Highway Patrol office around or just after noon. Here in the western part of the state a lot of the high schools get out just after 2pm so everyone whose had a recent birthday is trying to get their permits and licences right after school lets out. They do not allow you to take the test if you arrive after 4:30pm just because there is not enough time. You can take the written test three times in a single day for as many days at it takes to pass. You have to pass it before you can take the practical, but you can stop by your local DMV and grab a copy of the Missouri Department of Revenue Drivers Guide book for free. It has all the answers to any potential questions. My husband advises making sure you really know your road signs. The practical exam you can only take once per day and you can only take it three times total before appealing to the Missouri Department of Revenue explaining to them of why you should be able to take it again.

Depending on which person you're talking to at the DMV after the tests, they may ask for something with your physical address. Most people provide a rent contract or utility bill. My husband took a utility bill just in case, but since everything is slowly being digitized they had it on file for him through the visa information. This will be helpful when talking the the licence person because we just noticed they typed our address wrong. He was there at about 5pm so everyone was in a hurry to leave (he's gonna go get that sorted out tomorrow).

Best thing is to not let him sit around, definitely do things. My wife has just passed the 5 month mark of moving here, and she has been adjusting well. The first walmart trip is the best. Any grocery trip is amazingly fun. My wife couldn't believe how everything was done for you here. She picked up some sliced mushrooms one time and said why are they sliced? I said because we are lazy here in the US and it makes things easier. She was like I'm not lazy, so I will buy the cheaper whole mushrooms and slice them myself. There are so many things she sees still now and is blown away. Still, the best part is at least once a week she says something about this or that that is so funny I laugh about it for hours( Seriously), you will see. But I got her in English school, and another tech school to keep her busy, and she has so many friends now that have also moved here from Thailand that she is really enjoying things now. It was a little tough at first, but I took her to some of the Thai temples around town ( We got married in one, and that made her so happy to have a traditional Thai wedding, and it was really cheap as a bonus). Talking to Thai's that have been here 10,20,30 years has helped more than anything. Finding out where to buy the stuff she needs to cook original Thai food from home really helped her out. It is a ton of little things that will go a long way. I took me weeks to convince her to use the dishwasher, she just couldn't fathom a machine to wash dishes in your house, the same with the washer and drier for clothes. I taught her to use the bus system, and that bus pass really gives her some freedom to not be tied down at home, she goes to school on her own in the mornings, and just loves the city bus ( Another thing I won't understand). She still has days when she misses home, and I would too I'm sure, but you just be as supportive as you can, and it seems the things you can do to make her feel at home are the best. Just this week I put up a flagpole in the front yard with the US flag and her Thai flag on the pole. She was so happy when she came home from school and saw her Thai flag flapping in the wind in front of the house, it just made her so happy. I put a little prayer/ worship shelf on the wall like she had at home, and she has her Buddha statue, and other things just like home. She get flowers from the rose bushes and puts them on the shelf, and all sorts of things. It is a serious change, and there will be thousand of things you will be questioned about, and have to try and explain, but I think that is what makes it fun for both of us.

Hello everyone. New to this but we were approved on April 3rd. NOA 1 date was November 23rd.

The new website is still not updated. I called on April 8th just to hear them say “no new update” and to my surprise the lady said we had already been approved and the hard copy was already sent. Went to the mailbox that day and there it was. I didn’t believe her at first because the website wasn’t updated but it was true. Best of luck to everyone else.

    VJ Fam,

I never imagined when I made the original post what a profound affect this particular situation would have on me as well as others here on the site. This has been so emotional. So mad!! Not only because Sarah is a friend, but because it could have been me. I know the Visa Journey site is intended to help petitioners and beneficiaries with topics pertaining to various Visas, but I think its important to remember that we, the VJ community, are also human beings.

Each and every single one of us on this site, past or present, man or woman, regardless of the type of Visa relates to you, has felt some sort of emotion at some point in time during your visa process. Whether its petitioning for your fiance's or spouses, parents, or children, a job, finally getting naturalized, etc., regardless, there was a deep emotion attached to it.  As emotional as this process is, I cant imagine it all coming to a crash and feeling in some ways, victimized.

Here is the update...Im calling it The showdown!!! I waited all day for this!!! And yes in case any of you are wondering,  yes I was rubbing my palms together when the phone was ringing!!! Sarah waited until an hour ago to call her exfiance. I sat right next to her and gave her my 100% support. Being that its Friday morning in Jordan and her exfiance is off, it was the right time. She decided to call him direct and not call video chat only because she looked a bit sad and emotional and didnt want him to see that. She wanted him on speaker so I can hear as well. He answered and sounded very happy and also concerned because she told him she has been sick so he wanted to know how she was feeling and he was very worried. She was honest and said she felt like ####### and didnt feel good at all. He asked why and what exactly she was sick with and kept saying he was worried maybe she had a flu. She told him she was sick from him. He didnt understand what she meant I guess and told her to go see a doctor or go to the ER because again, hes so worried!  She said she needs to talk to him about something important and he told her and he was making coffee and she said hurry up and pour your cup and get to a quiet place I need you to be able to hear me clear. Then finally told him your girlfriend called me on facebook. He said who (very casually)? she told him she called, never saying it could be accidental. She said she called her but she didnt answer. That she saw her facebook page and wanted him to explain what she saw, she listed all of it. He was on the verge of denying it when she said more firmly what she knows alot. She asked him to be honest, not to lie, lying would make it worse and to think carefully before answering. Then I heard him talk nervously and say it was a girl he knew but was not interested in. Sarah told him one last chance to tell the truth otherwise she hangs up. She gave him few more facts and asked him to say true or false. Surprisingly he did not deny most of it. I can hear him light up a cigarette and take long drags (guess I would too) and eventually said yes its true he did have a relationship with her but it was many years ago. He was sorry he never mentioned it. Things ended with her years ago and then met Sarah. As far as those same romantic posts, he said she may have had them from me when I sent them years ago. She must have saved them. Sarah asked why would he send her the same exact posts he once sent to a previous woman?  He apologized. He was pretty quiet didnt know what to say I guess at that point and listening to see if she had more. She continued. He got aggatated and said someone was jealous of them and giving them the evil eye (ahhhh a classic!!). There are some other things that she knows that was not shared here on VJ that confirmed their ongoing relationship and plans. She chose not to share all of it with him and said she was aware of his plan. He denied having such plans but adjusted his previous explanation and said his parents did put pressure on him to marry her but infact he had lost interest when he met Sarah (his story kept getting worse!). He did say something that I agree with...the only thing I agreed on. That in fact the call made to Sarah was not an accident. It was done deliberately to trigger her to "find her out", maybe throw a wrench in their plans. He kept saying he was sorry he never talked about her but that she was ex. Kept referring to her as that, his ex. Sarah didnt want to continue talking because he continually changed his story and timelines. She mentioned she knew more. She told him she didnt want to hear from him again. She wants to forget about him completely. He is no longer engaged to her. He is no longer coming to USA he is no longer a part of her life. He asked  if he can have her talk to his mom. She refused. He asked again and seemed he was walking around to locate her in the home. Sarah said I will not talk to anyone. You will talk to her and tell her why you no longer engaged. She finished the call by telling him the final details that confirmed his fraud and he was quiet or taken back then wanted to deny it some more. Sarah said we are done and that he wouldnt hear from her again. She asked him to apologize. He did immediately and started to sound like he was panicked. He said to hang on a bit longer, and to let his mom have a talk with her.  She said she was done talking and that he needs to find God, etc. Before he can call back she blocked his number and everything else. She is doing good. She was strong. No tears. She was angry a bit after but said she agreed with me that God loved her and had her back on this. She did great. (I was kind of wishing she cussed him out a little...but thats just my fighter pilot kicking in!) I hope she will STAY strong. Next week when  she gets updated from the Embassy I will update you all here so we all know the process in the cancellation, what it entails, etc.

I have a friend over who has been trying to become a member of VJ for 2 days now. System is not sending the verification email for her to verify and she's re-tried several times. Same thing happened to me and it took me a week to join. Hopefully any moderators reading this can help fix this problem the site is having.  She applied K1 Visa and I will let her tell you her story below and maybe you can all tell her your thoughts and the OBVIOUS on what to do. In the meantime I put in her K1 timeline for her:

    NOA1: 5/20
    NOA2: 12/28
    CSC
    Jordan
    Interview: 3/5 - Approved

hi everyone. my name is sarah and im completely heartbroken and unsure what to do. after having this long distance relationship with the love of my life, we finally got to the end of our journey and got the k1 visa approved. We were both overjoyed.  best two weeks of my life following the approval. Now I recently came back from Jordan following and we planned to have my fiance come end of this month when he hopefully received his visa cuz its still shows in AP up until i left.

So now, about a week before I left jordan and after the interview, I received a call on fb messenger from a woman. no one was on the other line so I figured by accident? I wasnt going to think much of it but then opened up her facebook timeline to see if I knew her or if shes related to my fiance since I see she is in Jordan and as im scrolling saw many of the same romantic quotes and photos my fiance sent me. i immediately though this girl is obsessed with my fiance, stealing these posts from my wall, checking out who I am and somehow clicked call. But a voice said keep digging. i messaged her several times and she didnt reply. there is only one photo of her. i saved it. and saved all the posts. i took a moment to sit and absorb it all and think. i opened up her page again to have another look but couldnt. she blocked me. But not before I had flashed screened and saved everything because a voice just told me to. i made a fake account and took a full day looking up her friends, family etc. before i left jordan I had a girl I know there call, ask around, inquire, and do everything she can to find out "more". whatever "more" means. Boom! My friend knows HER friend. We made that phone call and several others following it. then i left it to info gathering over the last few days. to make this long and sad story short, so my fiance ends up having a long time relationship with this woman for many years. hes the love of her life and according to some, she is his. there was no money to marry her and her family is poor. So in order to "secure" her and their future he would make this sacrifice. hes going to do what a lot of muslim men do. take on a "second" wife. he will become legal, get the green card, get the citizenship then divorce and go back to marry his damn love and bring her here. He was pressured to marry her religiously prior to his "leaving" but she and him decided against it since he needed to produce the "letter of eligibility" showing he is single and free to marry. well good for them they thought ahead!!! He doesnt know I know all of this yet as the details were still coming in up until this morning. so so many details! but the picture is clear and looking back this explains alot of red flags i chose to ignore. like the texts he would receive and walk away to reply. i tried peeking over a few times. It was in arabic couldnt read it. I spent so much money from day one to invest in our love and life. i thought he loved me endlessly like he said. they way he crooned to me and things he said and how he did it. Just a great actor! i dont think his family knows. i met them they would never allow it. i will talk to them about it after i confront him. i know im lucky to know this now but i am broken. i need to recover from this shock. i will not confront him yet but will BEFORE he gets his Visa issued. So I want to know two things. WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO REQUEST THE CANCELLiNG OF HIS VISA since its been approved or IS IT TOO LATE? Second, how can I report him to USCIS or Embassy of what he was planning? I want him banned for life! I will confront him tonight or tomorrow as soon as I have all the timeline put together and after I sent the request to cancel. please if anyone knows the best phone numbers or the links, send those here if you can so my friend can simply forward them to me and I can click and go through the proper channels. I dont want aramex deliver visa to him. when I am able to make an account here i will update more. thank you. sarah.

VIP_LadyLuck reacted to brightfuture78 in Directly Observed Therapy - A Rare Outcome
I wasn't sure if I was up for writing this, but I felt like I had to, as I couldn't find another case like it on the site.

Some of you may recall, I created a topic several weeks ago about my fiancee receiving an early call during her 7th week of waiting for sputum culture results. Well, as was the general consensus, she was indeed informed that her results came back positive for TB. Like many people who go through the dreaded sputum tests, my fiancee had no symptoms of TB - no cough, no fever, etc. She looked and felt perfectly healthy, so the notion that she got the call was really surprising. As much as I tried to prepare her for what they were probably going to tell her, and as much as she assured me that she was prepared for the outcome, the news really devastated her to her core when she officially received it.

I tried to reassure her that everything would be fine. I told her it would be an extra six-months, but we'd get through it. Others have gone through this process and after 6-9 months they were cured and happily together with their fiancee. It's good that they at least caught this so you can get better, etc. The more I tried to talk her down from her disappointment, it seemed to hurt her more and I couldn't understand why... until she found the nerve to reveal the full scope of what the doctor told her.

He said she would need to be under Direct Observed Therapy for 18 months.

This absolutely shocked me. My immediate reaction was that she either misheard this doctor... or he didn't know what he was talking about... or he was a sadist who enjoyed telling patients the absolute the worst-case-scenario up front. I felt angry that St. Luke's was handling this so irresponsibly. I rushed over to Visa Journey and scoured the forums for topics in which others had to go through 18 months of DOT. I came up empty, which made me feel validated that there had to be some misunderstanding. I relaxed a little bit.

Over the next week, we did some apartment hunting and found her a cozy little place in the vicinity of SLEC. During her transition into her new apartment, I continued to reassure her that no matter how long her treatment takes, I'd be with her every step of the way to make sure she's okay. The first day of her treatment came around and they gave her a form that described her case in detail.

It indicated that over a 3-day period they had done 3 smear tests and 3 sputum culture tests. All smear tests came back negative. However, her culture from the first day came back positive, while the 2nd and 3rd day's culture samples were both negative (what the heck???). Here's where reality finally hit me in the face - under TB type, is listed her infection as "Mono-resistant".

I looked this up and found that it is a rare type of TB that is resistant to only one of the two most effective medications typically used to treat TB. Taking a look at the 4 medications they have her taking, it was clear that they performed a Drug Sensitivity Test on whatever grew in her sputum and determined it was resistant to  Rifampicin (the most effective of the first-line TB drugs), as it was swapped out for Levoflaxin (a recently approved second-line TB drug). St. Luke's charged us extra for this particular medication - said it was a new policy.

SLEC is apparently following the World Health Organization's recommendation of treating Rifampicin-Resistant TB with the same regimen used in Multi-Drug-Resistant TB, thus 18 months. My fiancee has never had TB in the past, nor has she taken any of the medications typically involved in TB treatment in the past. This means whoever she contracted the infection from must have had the drug-resistant strain and passed it to her. She's now in her second week of treatment. Her spirits have improved a lot, and she's been taking the situation pretty well, considering everything. For anyone, the prospect of going through this for a year and a half would be demoralizing and intimidating. I think she's starting to adjust to the meds, but there have been days where the side-effects have had her in a bad way. It's heart-breaking to witness.

There's nothing that makes the situation any easier to swallow. 18 months is almost like going through regular DOT 3 times, back-to-back. The only consolation for us is that she's on her way to being cured. I'm not sharing this with the intention of scaring anyone. From what I understand, this is a very rare outcome, beyond the already rare case of a TB positive result. I just want to provide a resource to anyone who might find themselves in a similar case in the future.

    Thanks for listening.

This thread was created for those who are waiting from their NOA2 K-1 to the case assignment from NVC.

These are items that everyone asks for, so I thought I just post them here for you to refer to when it's necessary.

    1. How do I update my email address with NVC Once you receive your NOA2 approval then contact NVC via https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html to update your email address as well as your beneficiary's email address. This will give you an email alert when your file arrives at NVC, your case is assigned and when the file leaves for your Embassy. Enter the petitioner's information as well as the beneficiary's in the "box". Full name, Date of Birth, NOA2 receipt number and WAC number. We have found in some cases that email's are never sent and in other cases this works well. So, your mileage may vary.

    2. Checking on your embassy case number from NVC:
It will take 7 - 10 business days for NVC to receive your file from USCIS after you receive the NOA2, then another 2 - 5 business days for NVC to get your file in their system and produce your case number. Call 7:00 am eastern time for shorter wait times.

1-603-334-0700 or 603-334-0888. Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM (Eastern Time) 1 for English, then 7 (or 5, but I would go 7 as they would tell you if you should call 5 instead after they receive your case.)

    Best time to call:
Right after they open which is around 7:00am US Eastern Time, Mon-Fri. Most have had luck getting the phone answered after the first ring if they called right at 7am.

    3. How long to assign a Case # from NOA2
It's been taking about 2-3 weeks for NVC to assign the case number. Then it's taking another 2-4 weeks depending on the Embassy to receive your case. Your mileage may vary!

    4. Follow Similar VJ members timelines. Use the tools here in VJ to answer "when I am going to get etc. etc." question. Near your picture there is a link for your timeline. Select it and once you're on the next page near your picture you will see "follow similar timelines" and it will populate 12 other couples who are near your dates. Scroll down and you will see a "spreadsheet" style page showing all the variables for measurement for when others from your Embassy are getting the same notice of approval or action. Try it. It really works!

    5. Follow similar VJ members timelines from other countries. And if you want to follow those from other countries that have similar timelines as yours there are several tools available to you. Go up to Immigration Timelines on the blue ribbon above and select it. Once you are on the next page looked to your left and you will see a box that states, "find similar timelines" and select it. A list will populate with those who are processing close to your timeline. When they start to change you will soon be behind them.
I followed those that were in my group to give me an idea where they were in processing, so I could judge if I was ahead or behind. It's accurate, maybe within a day or so.
If you choose to follow those twelve members then you will get an email every time their status updates.

    6. Be sure your profile is complete so that we can determine your Embassy. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.
    Thanks

    7. Timelines. Complete your timeline. In your profile to the left of the page you will see the word "timeline" toward the bottom. Select it and it will take you to the page that has the link for you to complete your timeline. This to can help us to answer some of your questions.

    8. Tracking your case. As a K1, when checking your case online at CEAC.state.gov you have to select "immigrant visa" as it is treated as such even though it is a "non-immigrant visa".  Technically the K-1 is a non-immigrant visa with intent to immigrate, but it is treated like an immigrant visa because of the AOS. It is kind of a ba$tard. Non-immigrant case treated like an immigrant case. The K-1 on its own is a single entry, with a short time limited visa that expires within 90 days after POE. That is why it is a non-immigrant visa treated like an immigrant visa.

USICS states If you have a pending I-129f, I-90, I-485, I-751 or N-400, we’ve recently changed the way we’re displaying processing times online to give you a more realistic date range. To check these times, visit https://t.co/ho3dfC5KCA

    9. Tracking your case file that's in transit to your Embassy. Go to http://www.dhl.com/en/express/tracking/shippers_reference.html on this page you add your search information. You change the day and month to what you think your package might have left NVC or call NVC to get the date your package had left NVC in route to your Embassy then go to the DHL website and enter the following information:

NOTE: It will take 24 hours before the shipment will show any results using this hack. DHL and NVC will need time to update their systems.

    EXAMPLE:
    * Shipper´s Reference : EXP 24 MAR 2011A (This is the date you think it left NVC, just substitute the date and leave everything else as is)
    * Date range for shipment - From: 23 - 03 - 2011
    * Date range for shipment - To: 26 - 03 - 2011
Account Number - Leave this blank
Shipment Destination: Philippines (Works for any country Just replace your country where the Embassy is located using the drop down box).

Sign up for SMS tracking alerts on the DHL website.   Once you find your waybill, check for the "sign up for shipment notifications". When there are any changes to the shipment you will get a SMS message to your phone. How awesome is that!

I hope these tips help you along your Journey. So, let’s share our experiences, our tips and ask questions.

    10.  Track your case with USCIS:

Old site (also the data source for all 'USCIS case tracker' apps): https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do
New : https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ (you have to create an account and add your case # to it)
Neither is more reliable (and it's very possible you won't see anything on either, and will have to just wait for the physical mail). For a while it looked like they were phasing out the "old" site, but that trend seems to have reversed itself and there are still lots of cases that show up on only one (or much earlier on one than the other).

    11. How long will it take to NOA2. Once your case has been received from NVC by the U.S. Embassy or Consulate that will process it, the length of time varies from case to case according to its circumstances. Some cases are delayed because applicants do not follow instructions carefully or supply incomplete information. (It is important to give us correct postal addresses and telephone numbers.) Some visa applications require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after the visa applicant's interview by a Consular Officer.

    12. USPS Informed Delivery Service. There is a service provided by the USPS (US Postal Service) whereby each morning USPS will scan your incoming mail (just the address side of the envelope) and email you an update. It's very convenient these days to have advance notice that an important piece of mail is being delivered.

The service is available to most communities but some are still being rolling out so not all areas are available. Check the website with your zip code to verify your location is available for the service. A person in the USA can sign up for this free service here: https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action

    13. Calling USCIS - You'll need your receipt number, DOB for both of you and full names. Beneficiary or the petitioner can call.

    1 (800) 375-5283 8:00 am

    Option 1:
Call USCIS. Do not press anything. Do not choose a language. If someone who picked up the phone cannot answer your question, ask them to transfer you to TIER 2.

    Option 2:
    Dial 1-866-953-7684

    Option 3:
    Call 1-800-375-5283
Press 1 to continue to English
    Press 2 for case status
Press 1 if you know your receipt number
Press your receipt number 922(followed by your WAC#).
They will tell you to visit the website for the answer but press 3 or wait and you will be connected to a live agent.

    Option 4:
Dial 1-800-375-5283 then press 1,2,2,4,2,1 then enter receipt number then press 1.

    14. Get to know your sub-forum. Each country is divided to sub-forums here on VJ. This is where you go during your wait at this stage to get familiar with those who have gone before you and those who are currently processing. There is a wealth of information there in those threads. It's a better place to ask then someone in this thread from Germany, Spain or Norway who may not know the "steps" that must be taken for approval in your Country's Embassy.

To get there go up to the blue ribbon at the top of the page, select "forums" and scroll down about 3/4 of the page for the link to your region/embassy.

Welcome to the thread. We are glad you are here (so far we are glad) but seeing your first post I wonder how things will go for you. Here is what you need to do. Call back and ask to speak to a tier 2 agent and KINDLY ask them if they can fax a copy of the RFE to you as you are leaving the country and will not be their to intercept the mail. Yes, it's a little white lie but there is a good chance you will find a kind hearted tier 2 that will help you. A tier 2 is the only one that has access to those systems. They can also read it to you (most will do this but some don't) and let you know what they are requesting.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

    Thanks

We met in March 2017 and were engaged in April 2017.  Love has no boundaries or timelines.  We are now married and are in the CR-1 process.  True love always finds a way.

So, short answer is no she wasn't alone. I went with her and I got asked questions too.

Long answer - We were Third Country National DCF in CDMX.  There they don't allow the Petitioner in.  But she did the interview and they asked if I was there because the CO had some questions she could not answer about my finances.   I went back with her and did the interview.  Fortunately I was there because then the CO then said there was an issue with her police clearance for Mexico.  Which there was not.

If you can be there, afford to be there, it will set her at ease.   Last April in Manila when she was getting ready to leave to join me in Mexico I was there with her too.  It was good to be there to help her wind up things like close her bank account, get her international driving permit and pack her things.   I left a few days before her because I had meetings in the states.  I took a bunch of her things with me and then picked her up in Tijuana.

We did lots of practice questions.  She was very prepared.

Agree. COs in USEM are very open minded. During my interview, the CO also asked for photos together. As mentioned, at that time, my husband and I had only two photos together and all taken at the same day. I explained that "we dated over PS4 games and movies. None of us remember to take a selfie on the couch". After that, the CO told me I was approved.

I think it is important to maintain presence of mind and to remain calm during the interview.

No issues. I did attend the interview. Got asked a couple questions then told me to have a seat. Wife was done in less than ten minutes.

Going on six years now and all is great.

    Tell her don't worry.

Your fiancee may have read the recent post about a K-1 denial where the younger Filipina fiancee was nervous and froze during her interview at the Manila embassy when asked a question, I think it was something about what did she have in common with her US petitioner.  There was also a big age difference and she was alone.  I think there was a language problem as well, in understanding the CO's questions.  So if she is nervous, be there with her at the interview as that might really help her to be more confident and calm.  Also, review Manila K-1 interview reviews here on VJ and review all of the likely questions she will get so that she doesn't freeze, so that she knows what to say in a confident manner.  If you talk all the time and know everything about each other, you should be fine.
