xyz12345 reacted to arken in spouse on GC and filed for n400 and I am on work visa
You can file for AOS as well along with the i130 petition at this time. There is no reason not to send it out ASAP.

xyz12345 got a reaction from Lemon23 in 2020/ 21- US Passport & Card Application-Tracker
SS card and driver's license can be used for I-9, unless for some reason you haven't had the restrictions on the SS card removed. That's the only think I can think of. Just my 2 cents...No judgment here.

xyz12345 got a reaction from Letspaintcookies in “Immigration History” Question on Place of Last Arrival
I was curious enough to re-check my English comprehension of " last arrival INTO the US" vs "last arrival IN the US" that I just googled...
I don't know if I'll come up with the same answer but stumbled upon this...
https://citizenpath.com/faq/place-last-arrival-form-i-765/
Port of Entry
In some cases, your port of entry to the U.S. could actually be in a foreign country. U.S. Customs and Border Protection maintains Preclearance operations in certain overseas locations to inspect travelers prior to boarding U.S.-bound flights. Therefore, your I-94 record (or passport) may have one place, but your physical arrival in the United States was in a different airport. In this case, use the port of entry where you were inspected by CBP.

xyz12345 got a reaction from judyann811 in Mexico - US Air Crossing Question
Acc to the Aeromexico website, flights are not banned as of March 20. I assume it'll be the same for all airlines.
https://aeromexico.com/en-us/notifications-for-passengers
Travel to the United States
This past Friday, March 20, the United States government announced that they would be applying restrictions on all land borders from Mexico for non-essential travel beginning March 21.
At the moment, this restriction does not affect flights between both countries.
The current travel restrictions for passengers entering the United States are only applicable to passengers who have traveled to the People's Republic of China (Mainland China), Islamic Republic of Iran; Ireland, the United Kingdom or any country of the Schengen Zone, 14 days prior to their flight.

xyz12345 reacted to Boiler in H1B visa extension pending (expiry may29th). Stuck in India due to pandemic
Consulates are closed and travelling could be an issue, the UK media are reporting people having major issues travelling form India to the UK, sounds like Indians with British Citizenship, and special flights have been laid on, somebody with a work visa would not qualify, not sure what the India US situation is.

xyz12345 got a reaction from javed.rizvi in H1B visa extension pending (expiry may29th). Stuck in India due to pandemic
If I understand the post below, if you're applying for extension, you can apply for premium processing even right now. Apply for that and then apply for the visa over there, if it comes to that.
https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/uscis-announces-temporary-suspension-premium-processing-fy2021-cap-subject-petitions
At this time, premium processing remains available for H-1B petitions that are exempt from the cap, such as extension of stay requests.

xyz12345 got a reaction from Cyberfx1024 in Can we bring my 10yo sister in law to the USA?
Provide for your sis-in law's education so she can help her family someday. Encourage her to learn a third language. Filipino families even encourage their kids to be nurses so they can have more opportunities to get high paying jobs outside the Philippines.
imo Should US immigration be free and fast as you've mentioned, Filipinos will be out of the Philippines in a second.

I'm assuming you're talking about expedited and in person (unless life or death situation) passport processing. Routine is still available but with significant delay.

xyz12345 reacted to Loren Y in UK Passport about to expire. Affect N400?
I would still renew the passport at your local consulate or by mail, or however they let you renew. Not having a valid passport from somewhere could be an issue if you have to travel internationally. File the N400 that will probably take over a year to get to interview anyway, and renew your passport in the interim.

xyz12345 reacted to NikLR in Doubt about "previous address" on form ds260
To note, unless the OP is a resident or citizen of Germany, they do not need a police certificate unless they lived there for 12+ months.
No.

xyz12345 got a reaction from NancyNguyen in Doubt about "previous address" on form ds260
German address --- yes.
https://www.boundless.com/immigration-resources/the-ds260-and-ds261-online-forms/
Make sure to list all addresses where you’ve physically lived since the age of 16, not only addresses you’ve used as an official permanent address. For example, if you continued to use your parents’ address as your permanent address when you were in college, even though you weren’t living there, you’ll need to include the addresses where you actually lived.
You'll also need a police certificate from Germany since you lived there for more than 6 months.
