I got e mail this morning my Passport was approved and shipped. Processed at Dallas passport Agency. Applied on August 10th. They started to process on August 20th. Exactly 4 weeks.

Just got my certificate back. So the complete timeline for Routine (regular/standard) processing with standard delivery, applied for both book and card ($140 total + $35 USPS execution fee):

How long is the expedited  process for the passport?  I have my oath on the 30th  but  i have a trip on Feb 27th  so that's about 4 weeks. I'm wondering if I should wait to apply through passport agency. or if the expedited process with USPS will work just fine?

 Also , where you able to apply for your passport  the same day after the Oath?

Don’t think it matters where applied. We both applied in USPS. Mine took 10 days to be acknowledged in the system. My wife’s took 3 days. the site indicates a further 2-3 weeks to complete the process of issue. So almost 4-5 weeks in all even for expedited (without imminent travel). As it turns out, I do have travel in early Feb,  so hoping it comes thru. 
 

 If you have travel soon after  oath, better to book appointment at passport office (check travel.state.gov site) with evidence of travel or visa application requirements. from people on this forum it appears that is reliably quick. if you send Application via USPS you might need to wait until acknowledgment number is issued to call Passport department for “upgrade” to emergency issue (anywhere from a day to a 2-3 days from what I’ve read here)

so: applied via USPS 09 Jan with $60 expediting fee and 1-2 day shipping $16.xx fee, acknowledged in their system only on 21 Jan, approved and shipped on 24 Jan. Not a bad process!

Not for applying thru USPS. If you have travel plans you can attach to application along with expedite fee. If you have already submitted application and have urgent travel plans that developed, call the Passport department at that number.
