Congrats on making it to the US! I just sent you a DM but am wondering how you were able to go around the travel ban put into place independent of you having the visa. Doesn't the ban prevent you from traveling to the US if you've been in the UK/Schengen countries within the last 14 days?

Not if you are married to a US citizen

That's so weird, I got the paper version of the NVC letter today and it just mentions waiting for them to contact me. So that's kind of what I was doing since we got the same one through email.

I guess I'll look at that tomorrow. Thanks. :)

Reread the letter. Also, you may get an e-mail that requests that you send documents to NVC, and they will schedule your interview, which is a pad script sent out to "immigrant" visa applicants. Still, since the K-1
is treated as an "immigrant" during this process, you'll sometimes get notifications like this.
Just ignore them. You do everything with the Embassy once you are approved from USCIS with
a NOA2.

Just had my K1 visa approved today in Sydney. The consulate was only doing emergency interviews. I saw two other applicants who were applying for a spousal visa and they were approved too!

Congratulations! How did you get the emergency one for Sydney? :)

Hi, I replied to you! I was exempt from the travel ban as I'm on an IR1 spouse visa and married to a US citizen. You have to go through screening when you enter the US, I added that to your email :)

Thanks! I just emailed the consulate explaining my urgent need to travel to the US and attached some supporting evidence. Then they replied and gave me instructions on applying for a formal request. For my case, it was because my fiancé is about to be deployed next month.

If you have an urgent need to go to the US, I would recommend anyone to speak to your consulate and explain your situation.

I already had my IV(F4) before the proclamation was introduced. But are they issuing green card to immigrants who are exempt from the ban and have entered the States after the proclamation was introduced?

This is a suspension of visa issuance not an entry ban for visa holders.  If you are admitted as a resident you are a resident, plain and simple.

YMMV

Looks like the courts are not even going to bother fighting the 60 day ban. Hopefully this doesn’t mean more restrictions after 60 days... or 52 days I think it is as of today

More restrictions could even come after the 30 days... or 22 days as of today
