Found some archives of the NVC step 6 page where they list how long it is taking them review documents submitted to them .

It was taking them 3 weeks to review documents in Jan 2019

https://web.archive.org/web/20190105164344/https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/step-6-submit-documents-to-the-nvc.html

On August 20th 2019 they were reviewing cases submitted on 15-JUL-2019

https://web.archive.org/web/20190820095534/https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/step-6-submit-documents-to-the-nvc.html

Archives for the page are available from Jan 2019 to Sep 2019 on https://web.archive.org/web/20190801000000*/https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/step-6-submit-documents-to-the-nvc.html

The backlog at NVC has been steadily increasing over the past year. It isn't normal for NVC to take this long to review document even with holidays and all. Not sure what can be done about this but seemed interesting to me.

Hey everyone,

Just an update. - We uploaded all documents Nov. 22nd received an email this morning. RFE😭 Our attorney didn't upload a translation with one of the police clearances and also uploaded the wrong birth certificate (not the long form from UK) 😡 So back to the back of the line I guess. Hopefully the NVC gains some momentum on reviewing cases.

I’m so sorry.. I’m currently waiting for round 2 to process because of the UK “long form” birth certificate.. even though they’ve accepted the short form in literally every other visa scenario we’ve been in 🙄

hopefully this next go around will be a little faster for you as the holidays are over.. for now .

I am so sorry to hear about this. I don´t understand why they don´t just ask for the long form clearly.

I also did not realize attorneys were responsible for uploading the docs online. Annoying that they should know this info!

Keep fighting - you´re almost there!!

They do ask for it. In the reciprocity schedule it does say to upload long form for UK

The attorney should have known this

Brutal 😫

That's why i always urge to hire an attorney but to always stay on top of their work - for me i hired my immigration attorney as quality control, but it is still my responsibility to make sure everything gets done on time and submitted appropriately. If you hired an attorney, make sure you're on top of his case and question everything because attorneys, while they are professionals, they are humans first and subject to fallibility. I caught some minor mistakes in the petition process that could've cost us another month or two. It sucks because we pay these people thousands of dollars, but still are prone to simple mistakes.

Congrats! And you were about to give up a couple of days ago! Now waiting for the interview should be less stressful.
