How much do the Canadians charge for a visitor visa?

so she is pretty much doomed for both the US and Canada! Wow....I'm pretty speechless right now.

"Possibility"  (emphasized earlier in italics) does not equal "doomed".

money isn't the real issue here. the issue is that she has been denied the us visa and in the canadian application form, they ask if you have ever been denied a US visa....

Well, yes but they already know the information either way.  They just want to see if the information they have is going to match up with what the person is telling them.

If she doesn't disclose it, she'll get hit with a denial AND a ban for a Canadian visa for 5 years for misrep

Canada often doesn't even interview the person. They will make a decision based on the application.  It takes about 15 days for someone from Brazil.

It doesn't hurt to try and visiting Canada and returning home can help with a US visitor visa.

Adding all this extra things to the answers doesn't help by the way.  "hey i had a visitor visa but I lost the passport and so then I didn't say in my last application that I lost the visa... "

seriously, why is it irrelevant? I have the impression you dont want to help out here.....you are negative.

Wow!  Someone pointing out the facts to you and you think they are negative.  Your irrational responses here show you want to be much more or already are much more than a "friend".  Just go to her country if you want to meet so much and problem is solved!

While I've never been to Brazil, I imagine it is a lot more pleasant this time of year than Toronto...

As someone from Brazil who was denied a visitor visa the first time I tried to visit, I can only say that if her visa was denied under "insufficient ties to Brazil", chances are slim that she will have a visa approved until her circumstances change.

In addition, from a CO point of view, reapplying shortly after a denial without any change in circumstances might make your friend look desperate to get to the US. I understand she has a dream of visiting New York but sometimes we need to postpone our plans. I know I did and I also know it's no fun, but on the plus side I got to visit other wonderful countries and a few years later got a visa to the US without any issues.

Best of luck to you both.

Just gonna point out that a dream of visiting NY when you are earning $2000 a month (I presume before tax and then what is left after you have paid rent, food, transport, clothing etc) may not look that convincing to a CO. Now sure not everyone needs to stay in a $400-$600 per night hotel room in midtown or on the park, but the point is that the dollar amount per month gross income before expenses presented might not tie up with a self funded trip to an expensive city like NY, raising the possibility of overstay or sudden desire for marriage, as a number of single ladies from all over the world before her have managed to do on a short trip to the US despite presenting ties home at their visa interviews.

as for the previous visa.. things change. I once got a US visa with zero ties home as a new college graduate - I can almost 100% guarantee you that wouldn’t happen now. Trips to Europe - should help, but let’s be honest, mostly, if people from LatAm are going to overstay somewhere it’s usually the US. Also, CO’s are pretty well trained at interpreting “friend” in interviews. None of this is definitive, but all little bits possibly adding up to a denial.

They ask this on the eTA too by the way, she’s not going to get away from answering that question even if she subsequently gets a US visa.

because we want to travel to the USA too...she wants to visit New York (her dream) and Boston

A lot of inconsistencies in her case.

How did she get a new passport if to get a new one you need to present your old or a Police report about it.

What she said to get a new one?

Some things to think about it:

1) She makes a really good salary in Brazil but lives with her parents.

2) She is single

3) Want to visit 2 cities where a lot of Brazilian people is leaving illegal.

Where she is from in Brazil? MG?

they didn't even look at her documents. So, it's purely on his instinct. It's really subjective. Yes, she was stressed, but that doesn't mean being stressed is because you want to leave a good life and live like a homeless in the USA. She doesn't even speak English. That's just dumb thinking.

So, you all say what should she answer to the reason of her denial: the thruth. Of course she will, but what : just" not enough ties to home country'" or explain that she had a visa issued but she hasn't used it?

They don't work based on just instinct.  They now everything, they have access to more information you can think.

She don't have enough ties to her country.  Have a job in the Government don't mean nothing to the US Embassy. Is just a job.

And again, if she is doing this amount of money and don't live by herself looks like she don't want to have her own home. So looks like is easier for her just move to other country.

Maybe she can ask her own questions and you can help her to translate. Maybe she can explain the situation a little bit better.

How old is she?

Where she lives? (ESTADO)

How long have she been working in this job?
