Annoying. I managed to get my hopes up about being done by September as it says on MyUSCIS page. It went from a 20 day waiting time to 10 in just a few days. Today was day 0 and I guess the day I would receive my interview date. Now it just says "We are taking longer than expected to process your case. You do not need to do anything at this time." Guess I'll go back to not checking my status again.

FWIW, my myuscis also says “we are taking longer than expected....”.   .... 7 months after I naturalized. So I don’t know how accurate that statement always is!

My daughter’s (filed in Dec2019) estimated case completion is the same it has been all along. Mine was dead accurate (I know not all are) and she is at the same FO, but I somehow can’t believe there has been no impact from Covid.

We'll see. I hope it's just because it reached 0 but no one at the office has done anything to it yet. My office should function relatively normal. We're supposed to enter phase 3 of re-opening on July 1st and our cases of covid hasn't skyrocket so... We'll see. It still says I'll be done by September so fingers crossed. Thanks for the info, keeps my hopes up! :)

Oh hey, I also live in the DC area. My estimated wait time says "we're taking longer than expected..." for about a month now.

USCIS just updated info for Miami office

I saw posts about this is another forum 😕

I hope this was only done to sanitize the location and would hopefully reopen when it's finished.

Miami was already one of the snail offices and for them to close indefinitely puts a damper on filers who have to interview there.

No that’s the ASC that open on July 13th. It says the Miami office is closed until further notice.

I just received my interview date in August. At this point, however, I am expecting a rescheduling with the furlough happening at the same time. Not sure as I need to fly over and spend 14 days in quarantine before the interview. I asked what the chances could be but my guess is that the USCIS officers are just as much struggling with the current situation.

Hi all,

I filed my N-400 on November 26, 2019 and completed biometrics on December 4, 2019. I have been on the waiting list for an interview at the Washington DC office since January 2020. The "countdown" to action feature on the MyUSCIS website reached 0 days earlier this month. My estimated case completion time still says August 2020, which seems unrealistic.

I'd be grateful to know whether any other November 2019 filers in the Washington DC catchment area have received notification of interview date (even if it was later cancelled due to CV-19). It seems like many November 2019 filers allocated to other field offices have had interviews and even been naturalized by now, but the wait in DC seems much longer.

Thank you,

Sarah

Are you out of US right now? Is that ok to be outside of US while you are in process for interview?

Of course it's ok to be outside of the US while awaiting processing.  We will be doing the same  starting mid-July.  Life must go on.  Just can't stay at home waiting and waiting.
