I guess that they are trying to limit the number of people attending the interview. The appointment letter said that if you needed an interpreter to have them available by phone. My wife has a friend that is now a US Citizen that is able to do this. Do you think this will work? (Or do you think they would not allow a friend/acquaintance to be the interpreter.)

A friend is fine. I think the spouse is the only one who's not able to do it.

our status changed to interview was schduled on august 30, how long does it take to get the letter?

Our status changed on Thursday, August 27th.

 

The letter arrived on Monday, August 31st.

 

Our interview is on Thursday, September 10th.

Yes. I was kind of expecting a month or so to prepare. Instead I got 10 days.

Went for my interview yesterday, the IO said i was approved and was telling us about the process after the next two years. My status is still the same as Interview was scheduled. He said it would take about 2-3 weeks to receive the GC.

 

The IO asked questions based on the form I-485 and asked if we had extra documents than what we submitted

We added our tax returns transcripts which showed Married Filing Jointly, Health Insurance, Bank statements and recent photos.

 

Sorry to inform you guys this,

He was also telling us about how they would be furloughed at the end of the month. About 2/3rds  (75%) of USCIS employees would be affected if their funding is not approved. We told him we are sorry about that and we would pray for him.

As an update to those still waiting for interview, of the cases that I'm tracking over the past 3 days I've seen 9 i485 interviews scheduled who have been waiting on "ready for interview" since April. It seems they're getting to us finally just a little more patience ..

I have been waiting since March - when they canceled my interview for April. Fingers crossed!

So on 9/3 our status changed on the case status app to say interview was scheduled, however it’s not changed on the new USCIS site. Anyone else in the same situation ? For anyone wondering location- Fort Myers Florida

On the new site it still shows case received for my I 129f. So there's that
