Just sending out good thoughts to all those who will be affected. I think I saw that @ALFKAD is in the affected area, as well as @Neonred, and @Boris Farage is on business there, too. Stay safe and dry, looks terrifying. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/30/us/hurricane-dorian-florida-updates.html

Former Canadian Prime Minister Tweets That She Is 'Rooting' for Hurricane Dorian to Hit Trump's Mar-a-Lago

Nice

Stupid name for a Hurricane

Why in particular? I think of Oscar Wilde's "Picture of Dorian Gray," which we read in high school and I loved.

I'll second that. Stay safe everyone.

Also thanks to mother nature for once again reminding me why we haven't moved to Florida yet.

The only hurricane I've ever been in was Hurricane Isabel, back in 2003, but by the time it got to Rhode Island it was pretty much just the effects of the hurricane we got -- lots of rain and wind. I had literally just arrived on campus a week or so before as a freshman and thought: what have I done coming here? Very thankful that was the only hurricane we had during the years I was in New England.

No matter what people think about Trump, that's just tacky.

I was in Hawaii for hurricane Iniki. I had also just got there a couple of weeks prior. For a while, I thought that was going to be it for me. In retrospect, I probably shouldn’t have opened the front door to see what all the noise was about. Live and learn I guess.

You should go to a local big Asian store and ask for Durian..... They will look at you crazy for a white person wanting to try Durian.

They used to have a lot of fresh Durian at one of the local markets we frequented in Taiwan........I could smell those things as soon as I entered the store.....always reminded me a lot of that stink they put in natural gas.......

It's funny in Davao City where Durian is prevalent many of the hotels have signs in them saying "No Durian or Marang" due to the smell. But you get used to the smell honestly but the taste is just awful

The first time I ever saw a Durian was in local Asian grocer in the middle of a 'chinatown' during my travels in England. I had heard stories about how truly terrible they were and how they can really injure people if it falls on your head?? Anyway they kept them in ice water in a kiddie pool right by the register. Don't remember if it had an odor.. but honestly how could you make something like that palatable?

Don't ask me because I hate the taste of it but my wife absolutely loves it. I have gotten used to the smell of it tbh.
