776656467_129photo_000141.thumb.jpg.6ee3c6afb67a5418cb3c73c128d1858c.jpgHow I did my I129F. Pages had 6 photos per page, normal paper, nothing fancy. I did send in color, below is a quick scan in b&w  to keep size down for VJ, but gives you the main concept.

I have been debating this topic back and forth. I just got 4x6 pictures printed from Walgreens. My question is do you think it's easier for them to be glued to a piece of paper with the description underneath or just label the back and put them in a ziploc bag? I just feel like the ziploc bag could easily be detached or lost from the packet. Do they scan the pictures as well or just look at them? If they scan them I feel like gluing them on paper would make it easier. Any suggestions?

Go to office max and buy the picture place holders for the 4x6 size. Similar to what you put pictures into an album, they are transparent. Just write on the back with all the info and since the pic holder is transparent, no need to glue anything or make photo copies. Thats how we did it. Super simple!!! Keep it simple!

You got approved doing that? I thought they didnt like having to take things out of transparent sleeves and to avoid that?

They don't deny cases based on how the documents in the packet are organized, though they advise the following at the USCIS site:

  • Do not use binders or folders that we cannot easily disassemble.
  • Use fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions. Two-hole punching the top of the material for easy placement in the file is appreciated.
  • Sticky tabs assist in locating items listed as attachments. For easy filing, place the tabs on the bottom of the page, not the side.
  • Do not use heavy-duty staples; instead use fasteners or heavy clips.
  • Do not submit originals unless specifically required.
  • Do not submit oversized documentation unless it is necessary.

Also, there's official reports stating that USCIS has storage issues due to bulky files. So, it is advisable to just include what is required.

It is about the quality of the information, not the quantity.

I used a two sided tape for my pictures and then placed each sheet in document protectors.  I wrote a caption and had my GF sign and I signed off to the side of each picture.  We had a total of 58 pictures in my 129F.

We were concerned about stuff getting lost.  The pictures told a story from my arrival, time with family and all the great adventures together right up to departure.   Each picture were clear, clean and concise.

Yes, those exactly. we totally got approved, the official at the K1 interview returned our pics just like we sent them. When we sent for our AOS we did the same thing. Its your choice and will not make your petition bulky. We sent 12 photos total. Which is honestly  to much. But everyone can do what they want. Thats just how we did it and its super easy!

We sent no photos, except for the required 2x2 passport style ones.  No RFEs.

FWIW, when I sent in my I-129F, I wrote on the back of each photo where it was and who was on it. No folios, bags, or anything else for that matter.

I get my photos printed for myself, to put in frames, photo albums etc. Before doing that I just copy them on regular printer paper to use for immigration purposes. I write underneath the photos.

USCIS likely prefer regular printer paper anyway as your file will be thick enough as it is, extra photos will just be annoying for them to store (especially after both K-1, AOS, ROC and naturalization..).

Transparent sleeves are not recommended as it will make it a not too happy day for the poor entry level person that is to remove each one. But it’s not a reason for rejection or denial either. It’s just a waste of everybody’s time.
