Hi guys, I have a question that I'm not sure if there's an official answer to it:

I've heard from people it'd better to fly with my fiance to U.S. after the K1 Visa is approved (less complication at the custom). Is that correct or just a wishful thinking?

Doesn't really matter.  Getting the VISA is the hard part.  The POE is pretty straightforward but sometime takes a few hours.

If she wants you with her and you can go, do it.

You can fly with fiance if you want but it really doesn't matter or not. There is no specific need for you two to travel together.

Ask your fiance what he wants and go with that.  My husband just received his CR-1 visa yesterday, and he has already said he wants me to travel with him from Brazil to the USA in a few weeks when he makes the trip and goes through immigration at the POE in Miami.  So I'll go and spend the money and do it, for him because I love him, even though I was just in Rio last week to be with him for his visa interview.  It's not necessary to enter the US together, but if he feels more comfortable I'll be by his side so we purchased tickets.  I'll also spend a day with him in his hometown in Brazil saying good bye to his family and friends, and that will be hard so I want to be there to support him in making that big step.  He's leaving everything behind--his family, friends, job, his whole life, so I'm going to be with him for moral support at a time when he will really need it.  Good luck!

Unless your fiancee doesn't speak English, or his/her English is not where it needs to be, this is personal preference only.

I am flying to be at the interview.  I am also flying out to get her (pending issued visa in hand, all data correct, etc.).  She speaks English well enough and could probably swing the POE on her own.  However, I know how flustered she can get in airports.  I know she will be nervous, airport employees will be barking out instructions as she enters the terminal, etc.  It would be umpteen times easier for her if I was by her side.  And just like a prior poster whose fiance is from Brazil, I am doing this because I love her and want her comfortable as she enters the country for the very first time.

This is NOT to say those who don't accompany their fiances/fiancees don't love them as much.  It is simply a personal preference.  I know it isn't always possible for people to do this.  Reasons can be financial, don't have the vacation time, et. al.

For me, if any unforeseen complications pop up either at the embassy or the POE, I would rather be there to assist (if possible) instead of being somewhere else where accessibility is not so good.  She had a small ticket snafu at the end of one of our meetings about a year and a half ago.  I did nothing but stroke her back as the ticket agent rectified the situation.  She was initially upset but told me later it was nice to have me there until everything was resolved.  It was a small matter at the end of the day but she gets nervous and fidgety sometimes.

All things being equal, ask his/her preference and comply if possible.  Even if it means eating a little salary, burning some vaca time it can go a long way if your fiance/fiancee is anything like mine.

Thank you guys for all your input! I understand there's no right and wrong on traveling with her and it's all personal preference (I do think she's more calm than I am when talking to the custom officer :) ).

I'm thinking of visiting her before the Visa approval and I might also accompany her entering US (we'll discuss this again).

PS. Yes, I did burn all my vacation days from my previous job visiting her multiple times every year (worth it :)).  I'm still accumulating PTO for the new job but will probably spend all of them on this upcoming visit.

Again, thank you for all the replies, much appreciated!

If you think it would help her relax (I found it nerve wracking after the whole long wait and getting rid of my life before moving over) then I think being with her would be a lovely gesture. Just be aware that when they process her at the port of entry, they are going to speak to her and not to you. But your presence may make her feel better.

I entered on my own with my daughter (K1 and K2 visas) and the immigration officer was so nice to us!  Very few questions. It was more of a casual conversation about where we met, a joke about flying halfway across the world for the right guy and he wanted to know if we had set a wedding date and reminded us of the 90 day rule. Mostly he was just going through the paperwork in the packet.  Maybe letting your fiance know what to expect will help as well :)

My friends wife from Philippines got hassled a lot by immigration officer at the airport in Los Angles .  They told here her fiancé had a criminal record for fighting and was trying to get her to go back home at her POE.  She told me they had her crying.

That was about 5 years ago, She is now a US Citizen and they had their first child a few months ago
