Okcupid! Worried

So I have been reading about the okcupid RFE recently after I sent in my application 129f. I met my fiancé through okcupid but switched to line very quickly. I mentioned this in my letter of meeting. I did not include a copy of the T&C for okcupid with my application. Should I send it in or just wait for the RFE if they do request it? Mainly should I be more proactive and send it in with my receipt number or just wait it out? I don’t want a delay, but I don’t want to sit in limbo. What do you recommend?

Generally, always better to wait for an RFE (if one is sent, for whatever reasons) then sending in documents/evidence separately.

Even with including your case number/info there's no guarantee that whatever you send separately will be actually joined with your file.

Most online "dating" websites the adjudicator is familiar with. If not, they will send a RFE whereupon you can reply. So, you can wait to see if they "catch" this and require the TOS or you can send a copy now. If it were me I'd wait and see how it shakes out because and RFE only adds an additional 2 weeks.

Return receipts fail to prove what was sent.

 

In terms of capability and organization, USCIS can't find either butt-cheek with both hands plus outside help -- a consistent condition for the last 12 years at least.  Expect the worst, and take no chances.

You would have proof that you went to the post office and sent an envelope.  Not what's inside the envelope. 

 

There's a reason why a RFE letter states on it to send the RFE itself back with any requested evidence....this is so the officer can scan the letter to move the process of one's case along after receiving the additional paperwork.  Without that letter---what is sent is likely going to sit on a desk and collect dust for a while before someone gets around to maybe taking the initiative to join it to that person's file.

I would not want several different things traveling between USCIS and myself independently.  That's a sure way to cause confusion either on their end or my end.......better to just wait and do everything in a clear, organized manner, imo.

I've seen some.  A search on this site for the term "USCIS lost paperwork" brought up several pages of threads...I didn't read any of them, so not sure as to the content of each...but they're out there.

I agree with you on that---front loading applications is something that is a good idea in most circumstances but yeah people can go overboard at times with stuff that has little to no consequence on approvals/denials.  The issue for this thread seemed more of sending in stuff after the application was submitted, with no connection to the original application without an RFE letter being received..which would be even moe useless if it ends up not even being joined to their file later on by the agent who opens the mail.

While most regular dating websites are not subject to IMBRA disclosure requirements, the burden is on the petitioner to establish eligibility to petition the beneficiary. As such, I tend to suggest providing documentation that the dating website is not an IMB instead of relying on the IO being familiar with the website or them just not questioning it.

 

Just for proper disclosure, I did get an RFE for failure to show that OKCupid was not an IMB. Some others in the same boat as me who filed in the same month as me had no issue.

I'd wait for an RFE as well...if you even get one.

I'm sorry. But this made me laugh out loud. It has been my actual experience that they can in fact be very sloppy. I'm sure they have some very good employees, but also.....

I wouldn't send anything in unless you get an RFE. I am surprised people even get an RFE for OkCupid since there are so many, including me, who has met their spouses on OkCupid and never gotten an RFE about it and never sent in T&C. I've only seen a handful actually have issues with it.
