I just had my period today (saturday, march 9).. I'm going to have my medical exam on tuesday(march 12). I can't back out now because I already booked my hotel.. and my interview schedule is on march 22.. 

 

I just want to know if they will allow me to do the  urinalysis test and physical exam?.. or Would they allow me to proceed the medical exam even if I have menstruation and then just  tell me to come back after my mestruation to do it but I can have the other tests like xray, blood test,..etc?

They are doctors. They know what period is. Relax. They dont look inside your pants either.

They will ask when was your last period for sure.. Thats 1 of the questions in medical

Oh thanks. I just want to get it done on the same day because I already booked my hotel and I don't want to go back again to st.lukes..

They will NOT ask you about your periods at all, only if you are pregnant now or not. They don't care if your urine test is contaminated with blood (gonorrhea only). They will not do anything to you that will require you taking off your undies completely. They do NOT perform a GYN exam om you. You will lie on a coach with your bra off and they will examine your abdomen. For urine test sample you will be guided into a toilet so if you are concerned, change and clean yourself just before. Really, there is nothing to worry about. My medical was just 02/21

I remember seeing something a while ago about tampons being harder to find in the Philippines. Would that maybe be an option?

What country will you be doing the interview/medical in?

I ask because your profile shows Philippines, and historically SLEC will make you come back again if you are menstruating. That language was only very recently (within the last year) removed from their website, but idk if it represents a change in policy...the main item is no blood in the urine.

But your timeline shows Armenia. Most other panel physicians do not have an issue with it.

I think it all really depends on the medical center. Here in New Zealand, one of the centers that does medicals (the only one I have been able to find information on) actually says on their website "Females, if you are menstruating, we are unable to test your urine until at least 3 days after your period finishes." 

 

Might be best to check with the medical center you're booked with.

Depending on the country you are from but from my experience, I went for my medical check up on the 3rd day of my period and I could take my urine test. As long as it's not your 'heavy flow' on that day or if your period is finishing, you should be able to take your urine test. They just don't want your sample to be contaminated... Just tell the doctor/nurse ahead and they will advice you on what to do :)

I had my period when taking the medical exam. When the test came back they just asked me if I had my period or not since blood was detected, and I said yes and that was fine with them. This was in Norway :)
