Can't you start a day if it's that important to you. I mean pirates have a day, so it can't be that hard to get something going. Thus far, I've seen people asking why they don't have a day and complaining about not having a day but not actually doing anything about it. To which end I suggest people pick one of the days we already have to celebrate which are more appropriate. For example, Sept 6th is national procrastinators day and Dec 26th is national whiners day.

They interviewed some guy on CNN today, Dem from Washington sounded like he was standing for 2020.

Asked him straight out if him being CISgendered white male there was any point him standing. Could not imagine them asking any other minority the similar question.

So he was going on about his Green credentials and pointed out Washington CO2 had increased a chunk since he had been elected,, that was down to population growth and Trump apparently.

You have to laugh.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Agreed

Another gripe of mine is:

You go to your local grocery store and they will ask you to donate for " Womans Breast Cancer", you never hear them asking you to donate for mens prostrate cancer.

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

Why not start more advocacy for that if you feel strongly about it?

I personally think the reason you see more stuff around breast cancer is because of a couple factors. One, women are more comfortable discussing the weakness and breakdown of their own bodies than men (I mean, think about, biologically women's bodies are designed to destructively transform in order to give birth, men rarely have to deal with such rapid and extreme changes to their bodies) and two, women are more collective by nature and are natural advocates, hence why they go into the field of social work and non-profits in overwhelming numbers compared to men.

Great points, thanks for reminding us simple men how good we really have it.  No periods, no childbirth, no dysmenorrhea, no huge mood swings... having watched my wife suffer thru bouts of dysmenorrhea that seem to rival my passing kidney stones, I understand a little bit the suffering that y'all undergo on a regular basis.

I can say I have seen you be a champion of advocacy here in CEHST. You also espouse and recommend people get off their derrieres and become a proponent for good causes.  You also have been known to support things that are overall good for all.  You even uphold the TOS.

You are quite the advocating advocate.  Thank you.

We don't have as many moods swings and hormonal fluctuations, but many of us make up for it by going through one long cycle of about 50 years or so where we spend most of our time acting like jerks.

FOR MEN WHO ARE TIRED OF "MALE-BASHING" JOKES

How many men does it take to open a beer?
None.  It should be opened by the time she brings it.
   ----------------------------------------
Why is a Laundromat a really bad place to pick up a woman?
Because a woman who can't even afford a washing machine will probably never be able to support you.
   ----------------------------------------
Why do women have smaller feet than men?
It's one of those "evolutionary things" that enables them to stand closer to the kitchen sink.
   ----------------------------------------
How do you know when a woman is about to say something smart?
When she starts her sentence with, "A man once told me..."
   ----------------------------------------
How do you fix a woman's watch?
You don't.  There's a clock on the oven.
   ----------------------------------------
If your dog is barking at the back door and your wife is yelling at the front door, whom do you let in first?
The dog, of course.  He'll shut up once you let him in.
   ----------------------------------------
What's worse than a Male Chauvinist Pig?
A woman who won't do what she's told.
   --------------------------------------
What's the correct answer when your wife asks "What's on the TV?"
    "Dust!"

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

It is a scientific fact that men get sicker than women.  When a man is sick (flu, for example), it totally disables him for 2 weeks.  On the other hand, when a woman gets sick, she is still well enough to cook and do chores.......

For those men that are opining about the recognition of men's causes, health, and days of celebration, I'd like to point out perhaps they should pay attention more.

While it hasn't been around as long as International Women's Day.. International Men's Day (Nov 19th) has been around quite a long time now. You also have Father's Day (Jun 16). National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month is also quite important (September). https://www.pcf.org/blue/ and the awareness color is blue, if you're interested. Collection of money for Breast Cancer and Breast Cancer Awareness month is also extremely critical for men - as men can be affected by breast cancer - not only in losing their wives, mothers, and daughters... but by the condition themselves. And those who may have colon cancer (also a subject we'd like to see men get checked the heck out for more often) are at a greater risk for breast cancer, and passing the condition onwards to their sons. Men also have Viagra to assist them in the bedroom, and awareness advertisements for ED, bladder, and prostate conditions are extremely common. Just recently there was a commercial on the tv from the AUC trying to raise awareness about PD/PF (Peyronie's Disease) with sad/confused men and cucumbers.

Perhaps though, since 2000 and becoming increasingly popular every year and coinciding with IMD, is Movember, a movement which is geared towards prostate cancer awareness, raising money for charity, and other men's health issues. Men across the world will spend November growing beards and mustache's for charity, and some take the competition very seriously.
