   Innocence and guilt? I don't see where it's applicable to what we were discussing. I certainly recognize the concept in legal matters, but we are talking about international women's day and equality here, not the criminal justice system.

  Indeed. Seriously though, to answer your previous question, you should look up the history of international Women's day and why it came about. I don't think you'll get a better answer to what you asked than what history can show you.

    I did not really pay much attention to it before I met my wife, but it's still a significant date in Russia and several other countries to this date. I should thank Boiler for posting this. I can forget Valentine's day and my wife probably wouldn't notice, but for me, it's best to remember Women's day.

 

  The actual date, March 8th, marks the date that women got the right to vote in Russia. So really, to answer why there is not an equivalent day for men, because men had the right to vote since voting was invented. What day would we need to pick to celebrate that?

Defender of the Fatherland Day (February 23rd) is sort of the de facto "Men's Day" in Russia but obviously it doesn't translate well into an international holiday since it's based on Russian history.
