Well Happy Birthday in advance! I try to make sure that all the men in my life know they are extra special on their birthday's too. I think most ladies should and also nag them like heck to get to the doctor and get checked out.

Just recently there was a commercial on the tv from the AUC trying to raise awareness about PD/PF (Peyronie's Disease) with sad/confused men and cucumbers.

 

Perhaps though, since 2000 and becoming increasingly popular every year and coinciding with IMD, is Movember, a movement which is geared towards prostate cancer awareness, raising money for charity, and other men's health issues. Men across the world will spend November growing beards and mustache's for charity, and some take the competition very seriously.

Father's usually get screwed as that is prime graduation party season.  Additionally, I had never heard of an International Men's Day, but I know my wife expects some flowers on Women's Day.  I got out of it this year though as instead I bought a ticket for her to go back and visit her family.

We've always celebrated Father's Day, by cooking Dad his favorite dinner, a card, and gifts. There's a running joke on twitter, that for quite a few years now, there is a British celeb that wishes everyone a happy IWD, and is promptly hit by thousands of angry trolls yelling about why there is no men's day. There is of course, and he will spend the whole of IWD trying to clarify and wind up the trolls. My hubby brought me a gift for IWD, and I'll do the same for him in November.

And also sometimes the primary job of the daughter that looks after her aged parents....  have pity on a gal that often hears her dad complain about his older man problems, knows that her grandfather had prostate issues, and that her dad should probably get checked out BUT he's just... _that_ stubborn. I went through the same thing with mom and her cancer honestly...  I just wish people would take better care of themselves.
