Poll: 3/4 Dems would consider backing Ocasio-Cortez for president — but she's not old enough

Freshman Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York isn't even old enough to run for president, yet nearly three-quarters of Democrats and Democratic-leaning adults would consider voting for her if she could.

This is just freaky scary.

She's pretty, she's young, and she's radical.  They love her.  Too bad she's not the brightest bulb in the box, or she could really make waves.

I think it's also because she has a kind of charisma and energy that people like Pelosi and company are just....lacking. Severely lacking. AOC disturbs me a bit because she just seems so naive, but she seems very real and not fake at all, that's probably a large source of her popularity.

Her radicalism might fade once she's been in DC for a while. Time will tell.

Ditto.  Good assessment.  We were all young and foolish at one time.  Nothing wrong with youth and vision.

She's pretty

Pretty frightening, that is.

Rush had a particularly deep analysis of Rep. Occasional-Cortex and her popularity/standing:

Long, but worth a good read.

Didn't she say the world was going to end in 12 years?  The earliest she could run for president is 2024, so what would be the point?

I think it is interesting how it all started with Burnie wanting to be more like the Nordic countries and then it somehow spiraled out of control and now we've got her.

If you look closely, it is not just her.  Senators Warren, Booker, Harris, have all started pushing the socialist programs.

Just turns your stomach imagining one of those as president.

I can understand the complaints people have against the old guard but these younger ones coming through are scary.

https://fair.org/home/ocasio-cortez-rattles-pundits-across-the-corporate-media-spectrum/

Few freshman members of Congress cause as much of a stir as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has. Articles about her are consistently the best-performing on right-wing news sites. The charismatic 29-year-old Bronx native has seriously ruffled the feathers of conservatives, unused to debating a Democrat with a genuinely progressive agenda. Her proposals include Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, free state college tuition, a 70 percent income tax on the wealthiest Americans and federal legalization of marijuana.
