Has your updated date changed? I read that if it changes twice two days in a row then to AP for less then a day on the third day you’ll get p3 2-3 days later. I’m on the second change crossing my fingers :)

Omg just checked. The updated was 1/16 now is 1/24

Our case status was updated to "ready" too 😀. We are in the process of preparing the documents already. Does anyone know who counts as dependents in the i-134? I've read that's it's usually the wife or kids that appear as dependents. But how about the mother of the sponsor? What if they are in the same household with the sponsor, but the mother is working as well? Should she be included as a partial dependent since they are in the same household?

As far as I know, but please do confirm with someone that knows 100% sure; but if the mom works, you won’t need to claim her as a dependent. As she is paying for herself.

@Greenbaum, wonder if my son could come with us for interview (I’m the petitioner ) ? Not sure if Mumbai consulate let that , but if they do it might be easier to prove the relationship between my fiancé & my kids.. just a thought. What’s ur opinion ?

Yes, we completed DS-160 before Case Number. You need the invoice number to schedule the actual appointment - which for us was done online. I'm not sure how your country works though.. Good luck!!

We also scheduled medical and interview (as medical requires an interview date) prior to when we received notification that our case was in transit. I'm definitely a risk taker, but I've been studying the trends, you should be fine!

Hi, so combined with the I-29F is it a good idea to fill out a DS-160? Please share your insight, I would love to know :)

The DS160 is a state department form (thus the DS). You dont submit it until your case is at that stage, earliest would be after you receive NOA2 or anytime after that, usually when the case is leaving the NVC. It is submitted online by the beneficiary and not the petitioner.

Yes, that's absolutely true. I just wanted to add that the petitioner is allowed to help the beneficiary fill out the DS-160. You also must disclose that the beneficiary received help and by whom, before the beneficiary submits and signs for the application.

hey guys, just curious if packet 3 directly send to beneficiary? or send to Embassy first then only to beneficiary via them?

P3 comes from the Embassy and sent to the beneficiary.

Here is a list of things to do that will help you along the way. When you get your P3 letter the combine that with this information.

When you get a copy of the P3 from your embassy could you share a copy with me. I like to share with others but I don't have a copy, just what I posted above from another VJ'r. Just PM here on VJ with a copy. Thanks.

Dependents would be anyone you (petitioner) are currently financially responsible for...   for example children and elderly parents would count towards "dependents".

You do not include your fiancé(e) as a dependent on the I-134.   If you do not have any dependents, enter "None" for the Family Name (10.a, 14.a, etc)

Medical screening complete,  gathering final docs for the interview next month! We were able to get all the medical steps done in a single morning - labs and xrays are sub'd to nearby specialists, mandatory vaccines given by regional medical center ~15km away.

BTW, vaccinations are included in the medical fee for SLEC/USEM and it doesn't matter if you need zero or 5 they are all included. Since you went "outside" SLEC be sure she showed the receipts and that it was transposed to the DS-3025 or you have a big mess to clear up for AOS processing once married and it may not be cheap. Just saying.
